I readjusted my tv cable on my syclone which is supposed to have a waller built transmission. After readjusting the transmission it now has a very very firm shift in between gears which feels almost to hard but I figure its because its a built trans but the problem that Im also having is that it doesnt shift into second until 20mph. It also feel as if its staying in gear to long for the 2 to 3rd gear shift. Where should the normal shift points be and how do I readjust to get the correct shifting? Thanks.

Re: Please help with tv cable!!!!!

With the truck turned off press the button on the TV cable adjuster (right at the cable bracket mounted to upper intake) and slide the cable in towards the driver fender while depressing the button. Release the button and WITH THE TRUCK STILL OFF, slowly rotate the throttle blade open until its at WOT. You shoud hear clicking as the TV cable adjusts. Once you've hit WOT throttle the cable is set properly.

I did all that because the trans was shifting really soft. Well now it shifts almost to hard(which maybe normal because its a waller trans) but the truck feels like its staying in 1st,2nd & 3rd to long. Do you know what the mph is supposed to be per gear before it shifts? I thought that I read it somewhere but I cant seem to find it. Thnx.

I too have a Waller trans and they do shift a little higher and harder than the stockers do. I never actually paid attention to shift mph but I will tomorrow and report back...

thanks, mine is staying in first gear until 20mph and Im not sure what mph it shifts out of 2nd but it seems to stay in gear a touch to long also, unless this is how waller trans shift. After adjusting the cable it shifts hard as hell almost to the point that it feels like it going to rip something apart but now the truck takes off like a bat out of hell unlike before when the cable wasnt adjusted properly. I also got 2 clicks out of it when re-setting it.

Re: Please help with tv cable!!!!!

2 clicks doesn't sound like enough, I got 3-4 when I adjusted mine. Could be different with every truck but as long as you set it the correct way it should be good. You could manually pull it out one or 2 clicks to soften the shift but don't go crazy because the correct trans pressure is very important in a 700 trans.

Did you open the throttle body by hand or by pedal? I had one of my buddies push the gas pedal very slowly until it was to the floor. please let me know what your mph's in each gear are when you take her out tomorrow. thanks

Always open the throttle by hand at the Throttle body. That's the proper way. I will note shift MPH on my way to work tomorrow and report back.

I reset mine this morning and I thought that the cable was going to break when opening the throttle body by hand but the the truck is now shifting into 2nd at 15 and into 3rd around 26-28mph. The shifting points feel right where they should be but the trans is no where near as stiff as it was when I set the cable by the pedal.

Re: Please help with tv cable!!!!!

worked great, nice vid  i had read up a while back about the proper "adjustment" or setting the TV cable as some refer to it as, although that really is the correct term, since it's either right or wrong and not really any in between, however i found a several different websites explaining it, and there was 3 different explanations on how to do it 3 different ways.

not sure why that is, but i'll just stick to this one
