Does anyone know what the combo should be so it doesn't affect the transfer case?? Does anyone have 18 inch front and 19 rears? Please let me know...I have a chanceo buy a pair of OEM Corvette wheels but, I don't want to buy them if they won't work properly...any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
BB

Most people haven't responded because it's much easier to run the same sized wheels on all four corners. For many, it's not worth the math and possible damage to the transfer case to try and run offsets.

Not to say it hasn't or isn't being done, but it's not very common at all.

Re: C5 Corvette 18" & 19"

I see I was going to pick up a set of c5 zr1 wheels with 315's on the rear and get a front to match guess thats a bad idea :(

Re: C5 Corvette 18" & 19"

i got 17's up front and 18's in the back on the sy. not my kind of thing. and traction is stupid.
altough if you rune some different tires wich you already need to do you can have the same outside diameter so the problem isn't there.
for as racing... 18's suck balls

Stupid as in good or bad?? Im guessing bad because you say 18's suck balls lol.
Im looking for something I can run all the time and Ill get some 15's for the front and rear to race with :)

Re: C5 Corvette 18" & 19"

I spent some time on Tirerack's website and I think you'll find your information there. Consider the stock 245/50R16s were 25.6" tall and went 811 rpm (revolutions per mile). If you want to keep the same stance and gear ratio (and speedometer calibration), you'll need to match those numbers.

There aren't many choices close to our height on a 19" rim. The aspect ratio dips pretty low - you'll be looking for a 25 or 30 aspect tire. Lets say you choose a 325/30/R19. The tire is 26.7" tall and goes 780 rpm. This tire only turns 4% slower than factory and should work assuming you're ok with the 1" height increase. Now the challenge is to find a 18" tire to fit your width rim and match the 780 rpm. A 275/40/R18 I checked is 26.6" tall and turns 786 rpm. VERY close, but close enough?

Having different size wheels and tires on corvettes isn't an issue. On an awd truck, even small differences may cause problems. I don't have a working knowledge of our transfer cases and viscous clutches. On a truck w/ traditional transfer case, a small difference would cause binding. On ours, it may cause overheating issues with the constant slip and premature wear of the viscous clutch. Maybe an expert can chime in...

Good luck, hope this helps!

I am not aware of any OEM 18/19 C5 wheels? They are 17/18.

I'm running C5 17/18" on my Ty. To get diameters to match I use 255/45/17 in the front and 295/35/18 in the rear.

I too am running 17/18 C-5 combo. I have 285/35/18 rears and 245/50/17 up front. No problems but I have on 4-5k miles on them. Like Simpleman said check Tirerack and just compare the #'s. Good luck.

Re: C5 Corvette 18" & 19"

I got my adapters on ebay. I can measure them for you and let you know how thick they are. With the spacer I have bring the tire right to the outside edge of the cladding. I like the way it looks. I will check my Ty reciepts I may have kept the one for the spacers.

Re: C5 Corvette 18" & 19"

Ok I just measured them they are 1.25 " spacers. So you will need 5 x 4.75 that are 1-1/4" thick. Mine came with the spacer lugs cause they are shorter so they don't interfear with the wheel mounting surface.

Re: C5 Corvette 18" & 19"

I run 18" vette all around on mine. 275s all around also. Front sits perfect, rear could use a spacer, but I am just living with them inset. I am thinking about going with the 17's up front. Good info in this thread.
