Re: Pontiac Heads # 10045449

I got an email yesterday asking for what ratio I wanted. And that as soon as I let them know they would order them.
They ask this now, a week after I placed the order?! :squint: sheesh!
Why don't they provide that option in there ordering system?

So I ordered 1.55's for in. & ex.

<sigh> still waiting...this was from yesterday.
"your rocker arms were ordered upon your reply. We should be able to ship them to you within the next couple of days. I will let you know once they have shipped. I should have notified you of the status, so I apologize for leaving you in the dark about it."

Now, I have some more goodies & will need a set for these as well: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rbippus@sbcglobal.net/album?.dir=10afscd&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rbippus@sbcglobal.net/my_photos

fwiw i have pontiac heads on mine

are they the 23 or 18 degree paontiac heads.

the 23 deg heads have a 78 cc chamber as i recall. so milling or angle milling will be req'd.

you do need the jessel ofset rockers which are 1.6 ratio.

also you will need offset lifters. comp has them.

valve covers will need to be fab'd also as the pushrod will most likely be to close to the top rail gasket area.

my heads were angle milled to get he cc's down for proper compression-ratio.

also relocated exhaust ports for increased velocity without raising flow rates so that spoolup is fast.

Re: Pontiac Heads # 10045449

thanks for the info ed....i kinda figured the shaft mounts were necessary.... but was just too damn curious as to wether these would work... either way i can re-sell these. do you have the correct part# for the jesel shaft rockers and comp lifters?

call jessel and call comp... jessel only makes one setup for the v6 with an offset and comp will know what you need.

Re: Pontiac Heads # 10045449

My rockers arrived Friday. Looks like they are .250 offset on the in. & 0 offset on the ex. I opted for 1.55 ratio on both in. & ex.
From Nightdivers build I believe he was using something like .500 offset on the intakes with offset lifters. I can't test fit right now since I had to send the block & crank back to the machine shop for a bearing clearance check. But I have a feeling that I might need to exchange the .250's for .500's.

From looking at the Comp catalog, looks like the only offset lifters are solids. So I need to get the heads flowed & start thinking about a custom solid cam.

I am running solids so that may be correct.
