gmpp OR crane gold 1.6 SA rr's ?! (PIC) ---

pppssssshhhhhtttttttttttt
Well I have a set of BOTH in 3/8 laying at my feet right now. I am going to sell a set , and use a set on my 4.3 v6 syclone engine since it wont rev past 6000 rpms (going 7/16 NSA w. g.plates on my 327 and the lt1 afterall).

I read that the gmpp ones are 30% stiffer because the rocker stud slot length is reduced, and its obvious when you put it next to the crane golds.....the only thing is doesnt that make them HEAVIER?!

Also, the crane golds seem to have a bigger oil hole, and a little more clearance under the tip, like 1/16", but are they weak?

The golds can accept a 1.63" max spring diameter, and the gmpp only 1.45" with a max of .575 lift ... dont know the max lift on the golds but I bet it would be higher. I am going to about 6K redline and .520 lift with my cam (comp 415).

The gold I have are used and the gmpp ones I have are new.

Here are pics so you can see the stud slot length differences. THANKS FOR YOUR OPINONS AND POSTS :

Beside a T&D or Jessel shaft rocker, you can't get much better than the Crane gold rockers. Go with them over the GMPP rockers if you want the better of the two.

Do these look narrow body for the centerbolt valve covers (are BOTH the stock and vortech heads centerbolt)? Unless the gmpp ones are ,I guess the crane ones arent? How hard is it to modify these to work on the vortec heads if they arent the narrow style?Hmmm ---

I recently learned that you just have to cut out some brackets on the inside and your good to go with the reg. sized rr's :) ---

Are they self alinging or are you using guide plates?

SA = self aligning ... it shouldnt see past 6k rpms and wont need guideplates ---
