It's forged bottom end in GM's performance "bowtie" block. It's like a bazillion times stronger than our stock block and what most of the fastest guys are using I believe. I'm sure you will get more details here in a minute from someone more in the know.

i'm doing a bowtie build. the build is a gm bowtie block and alot of custome stuff. meaning $$$$$. if you need to know more pm me and i'll give you a run down on what my build consist of

What you have so far in parts, how much is the total bill so far, and which of my local banks do I have to rob to aford this build. :rotf:

But I would like to know the break down of cost on a bowtie build. No so much in the heads, just lower end. Block, crank, pistons, rods, machine work.. ;)

What specifically makes the block stronger different metallergy or different engineering? I guess it's kind of a dead subject since they don't build them anymore.

With more research I have learned they are just thicker between the bores, and can hold a little more horsepower. Not too much a tub of Hard BLOK filler cant suffice ;) ---

deapends on the block they are built for racing so more care is given when they are macined, cast and such, they are more correct to blueprints and stronger then a factory block but like Mike said very hard to find and $$$$$$$$$$$$

I suppose if your running a track only truck that would be fiine. But for most of us we would want to drive it here and there or maybe to the track to show what we have, good luck with the over heating problems. ;)

I thought it was just the Aluminum (wet sump) that was discontinued........?
