Re: new oil separator for pcv
Help me out here please!!!!!!!!!!! It is my understanding that the pcv valve that goes to the Trottle body is sucking out the excess pressure when the truck is not under boost, then when you are under boost the other pcv opens (if connected before the turbo) and draws that same pressure out of the valve cover.
Im a right so far?
If this is correct, why couldnt you just have it always suck from the pre turbo port?
in looking at the modified catch can here i began to wonder, if the hose comes out of the valve cover to the can (it has a pcv valve) then a line goes from the can to the pre turbo port ( another pcv valve) wouldnt the pressure in the cover keep the fisrt pcv valve closed?
Next, coouldnt you just get rid of the pcv all together with this can? a line to the can to one of the connections provided when the can was bought, then another line to the pre turbo port. it is always under vaccum unless the truck is turned off, so maybe a pcv valve just to keep things from going back into the lines when the truck isnt running.
Maybe im just lost here. i bought an RPM A2a and will be installing some sort of catch can to keep oil from getting into the cooler core, but know that im thinking about the more i wonder if my thinking is all wrong.
