how much boost can a stock sy handle without any upgrades?

i want to turn up the boost and put a shift kit and maybe a chip.

all input would be helpful as i dont know much about these trucks.

has anyone hardpiped there boost hose?

stock boost is 14.7psi, if you want to go higher you will need a upgraded fuel pump, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, 3bar map sensor and a chip that will work with the 3bar. As for the shift kit chances are that will hurt your transmission than help at all.

yeah you can't just throw a shift kit in a tranny u can only do that if its being rebuilt other wise i will work good for a day or so then go to crap...and yes i have a hardpipe from the intercooler.
