    4472 input shaft question

My thrust washers came today but I received two 1900-193-006 instead of a 1900-193-005 and a 1900-193-006. I measured the thickness of a new 1900-193-006 and compared that to the thickness of my used 1900-193-005. My 1900-193-005 was only 0.001-0.002" thinner, so I decided to not wait for the...

    4472 input shaft question

While I am waiting for the replacements to arrive I went ahead and cracked it open to get it ready for the new one. Dave you hit the nail on the head, here is the old planet -- input shaft washer. The 1900-193-005 washer is in great condition, the 1900-193-006 as shown has a bit of wear and...

    Front differential pinion flange

I found a whole front differential out of a 1996 Oldsmobile Bravada. FWIW this not for a Syclone or Typhoon, it is going into an S10 AWD conversion.

That looks correct, I am probably going to change that one and the other that is listed in the parts diagram I have. https://www.allstategear.com/Borg-Warner-Rear-Planet-to-Ring-Gear-Hub-Washer-p/1900-193-006.htm?CartID=1...

    Front differential pinion flange

Anyone have a front differential pinion flange they would sell? From my research this can be from a Syclone, Typhoon, Astro or Safari AWD (95-05), or Bravada (91-94 & 96-97). Or anyone know of a salvage yard in North Alabama that might have one? I have checked many salvage yards and have not...

    4472 input shaft question

Awesome, I will look into getting one while the transfer case is out. I have new seals for the input and front output shafts, so I might as well crack it open to put them in. Thanks for the response.

    4472 input shaft question

That is the service manual I was eyeing on Ebay, thank you for checking. Looks like it covers disassembly and assembly, maybe there is no specification for it? I will continue searching for a Borg specific book, or hope someone wanders in with some 4472 expertise can confirm it is okay/normal.

    4472 input shaft question

Today I measured the axial play with a dial indicator, it is 0.087". I found the GMC Syclone & Typhoon Shop Service Repair Manual Supplement on Ebay. Table of contents lists that the transfer case is covered in section 7D, anyone have knowledge on what the supplement covers for the transfer...

    4472 input shaft question

Or does anyone have a BW4472 laying around that they can check to see if it has similar axial play. I looked around for a service manual and did not find anything. I would think a service manual would have a specification limit for axial play.

    4472 input shaft question

I have a stock Astro van BW4472 transfer case that I am getting ready to install. I have not opened it up, but have tested the chain slack and viscous coupler and those both check out as serviceable. But the input shaft has about 1/8" of axial play, is this normal? Thanks.

    4472 Input shaft/ 4l80e adapter kit

Yep, I have them and would consider selling them. I originally bought them to put a 4L80E in my 4wd S10 (and convert to AWD at the same time. I have decided that a 4l60E can be built up sufficiently for my plans, so I no longer need the input shaft and adapter. I sent you a PM.
