    4L80E Install

The front propshaft needs to be 3.25" longer. The longer 4L80 moves the transfer case back 3.25", so the rear driveshaft gets shortened that amount, and the propshaft gets extended the same.

New Syclone Owner looking for help.

You definitely should have water in the charge air cooler. If you don't you can get knock. The cooling system for the turbo CAC is completely separate from the engine coolant system and has it's own electric pump. The pump can go bad if it's original. After you fill the system, you should...

Anyone wanna chime in and tell me what this is?

The braided line is the stock oil feed line to the turbo. Stock boost control is from the solenoid with the blue wiring connector controlling pressure to the wastegate. Someone's disconnected that. The coolant tank in the photos is the radiator and turbo charge air cooler overflow - it should...

    Oil pan options?

A few years ago my starter failed on the way to Carlisle, and I had to get a tow from the PA Turnpike licensed wrecker. They took it to their garage and were crawling all over the truck while I was waiting for someone to come get me. One guy came over with a really concerned look and said he...

Dropping Front Diff for Motor Mounts

I have the JTR mounts. They require removing both halves of the old mounts (on the motor and on the frame), which is a pain. They are slightly smaller than the stock style mounts. The good thing with these is the rubber isolator is surrounded by steel. The stock mount isolator is bonded to...

Things a new SyTy owner should know and do

My memory from reading old threads is that synthetic transmission fluid is too slippery for our trucks. With the high torque that the clutch packs are trying to catch at full throttle, synthetic fluid lets them slip for too long. Eventually they can start to burn up. Plain old regular...

    Eagle rod installation sheet

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking for the torqueing procedures. Do they call out an angle gauge, or just torqueing to 75 ft-lbs?

    Eagle rod installation sheet

I'm looking for a copy of the installation instructions for Eagle rods. Does anyone have a copy they could send a photo of?

No start after new engine install

Did you clearance the oil pan? Eagle rods will hit the stock pan. Most people mark where the rods hit and carefully pound the pan out with a hammer in those locations.

How much gas is in the tank? If it's low, fuel sloshes away from the pickup under hard acceleration.

    8.5" rear question

Re: 8.5" rear question I wouldn't buy an axle just based off the yard's description. My understanding is there is no RPO code to identify that the truck came with an 8.5" axle - the factory just put them in as they saw fit. You have to know what to look for to be able to tell the difference...
