are the output shafts different between the two trannys? ive got a 2wd 4l80e and want to convert it to a 4wd. for a different project

Yes, they are.

And changing from 2wd shaft to 4wd shaft requires taking the entire trans apart. Output shaft is the first thing into the case.

Shoot if he can crap , um i mean figure out how to cram a t56 in his sy , lol , im sure i'll only get a handful of calls asking why theres pieces left over

I just wish he cared about the sy like he does the swamp/mud truck and the 4 wheelers . That poor , poor truck ......
