4l80e 4x4 output shaft length

Can anyone tell me what the whole length of the 4x4 out put shaft is that needs to be used in a the 4l80e to work in our trucks? I know that about 3 inches sticks out of the case in order for the billed adapters to work but I'm trying to found out what the total length of that shaft is? Is this it

All I know is that I see nipples in your profile pic and you talk about a 3" shaft.

This is why I suggested someone pick up that Van 4l80e. It has the 6" output shaft that you can cut down for maximum shaft engagement... Lots of people feel that the 3" is too short and suggest cutting down the shaft to fit the best.
