i guess i should be more specific. im talking about the fitting that comes out of the side of the tranny itself

I think to get a 90 on the one I helped with we used 2 45 on that screws in the tranny and the other on the hose. I am pretty sure a 90 would not screw in because it hit the case. If you could find a long 90 it might work but I think you will be happy with 2 45* fittings

on Dean's we used one of our tight radius trans fittings and brazed on a 6an steel fitting.

mike, does that trans fitting have the long tube on the end of it to go further into the trans? Thanks

The long tube is only needed on the newer cases that feed into the rear of the case not the front feed near the converter.

Shouldn't be any clearance issues in back if you do have a rear lube case.

I have the newer trannys in both the sy and Ty. Maybe it's the way I positioned the motors on both of them but I have clearance issues with the tranny tunnel on both. I braised a 90* fitting on the stock fitting on the sy. Was hoping to not have to do that again but I guess I'll have too

no tube.. it is this fitting, with a steel 6an fitting brazed on instead of the hose barb.

i believe we tried normal fittings, but the clearance wasnt there.. this method provided the most clearance.

hope that helps.

From what I've read the fittings are 1/4"NPSM w/ an O-ring not 1/4"NPT. I'm sure you could get away with the tapered thread but you might want to be aware and not crank it down too hard.

This might be different between the old and new cases. I'm talking the new case that you need the long tube.

Maybe someone else can clarify.:2cents:
