What have you guys who have your 80e's with high hp numbers. I am looking at making it survive 1k hp at the fly. I know converter stuff, just looking for internals build sheet. Any tips or tricks i should know about to help with 800 awhp. Tia

Re: 4L80E build

I got all the billet out at the time when I built mine . Input , middle , output , and the clutch hub . Now they make a Billet direct drum too , but it's like 6 bills . Just do all reds , put in a hd2 shift kit , and whatever billet you feel you may need . I wanted extra protection in having all the billet cryod , I doubt you'd need all that though .

Where did you acquire your billet output shaft?

Re: 4L80E build

I think i'll just have my input and intermediate cryoed. Thanks King for the list of other parts. Its what i though, but wasn't sure. I'd love to go crazy with it, but feel it may be unnecessary. I may never push that number, and would prob be happy with 750 fly. But in case....Also i don't mind a rebuild every other year to keep it fresh. keep em' coming.

George sold it to me . I swear i remember them all being listed as such when he sold me the parts . Maybe no judging from each of your responses ?

I learned from him, that there isn't anyone that he or I have seen that produces a billet output shaft.

Re: 4L80E build

The only billet shaft I know of is the one I built out of a billet of 4340 and had heat treated. With that said I talked to Carl Rossler and he was impressed with what I built, but also said he has never seen a 32 spline shaft break in all his builds and felt it was overkill.

The term BILLET is abused way too often.
