4L80E fittings question (older style)

Ok, I have the older style 4L80E and have a question about the fittings.

The setup currently has brass fittings in the transmission now. Do I remove those, or do I put new 90-deg adapters on them?

If I'm not going with AN lines, can I just use the RPM adapters? I just get the right size based on what size hose I run, is that correct? (3/8 vs 5/16).

Here is a pic for reference.

Thanks in advance.

I've got 2 of these on the way:

I'm just not sure if they replace those brass fittings, or are attached to them.

I left mine on, then put an fittings from there out. I am not sure if the fittings you ordered are correct or not. I am sure someone else can chime in on that. Another note, 90* fittings also restrict flow, i usually try to avoid them.

Why wouldn't you just use hard line and make your own flares? You could run the hardline as long as you want right to the cooler.

Might be a space issue, those fittings keep the hose withing an inch (25 mm) of the case, you'd need to be good with a bender and flare the nut on the line first, and you'd still be at least 2 inches (50 mm) away
