4l80e pan?

Syclone#2960

What ever it takes!!
Question for the guys running 4l80 transmissions...are you using an aftermarket oil pan that holds additional quarts of fluid?
Just wondering if I need to shell out $350 for a pan that holds an additional 4 qts.
I installed a deeper pan in my Dmax and did not see a drop in temp, in fact temps hit 210-220 riding hard on the sandy beach.

Re: 4l80e pan?

I just the run the stocker with a huge cooler, was going to put one on my 80 till i saw the price, i think money can be spent better else where like on a quality converter for Circle D

Re: 4l80e pan?

I have the stock pan but keep most of my fluid in a bucket.

$350 seems an awful lot. Is it billet? :D

I saw the TCI one and the Derale one - I'd like something with a drain plug and potentially a temperature port but in all honesty, I think with the stock 80e pan, some trans lines and the cooler, it's enough.

I will modify the stock pan for a drain plug the next time I pull the VB/trans.

I was thinking about this one.

I guess if I see temp above 185 then I will consider one of these.
