This is just for future search results: ;)

If you are doing a 4L80E conversion on your Syclone you will need to Shorten the Drive shaft ( 3-1/2" ) inches due to the transmission being 3-1/2" longer than the 700R4. You will also need to Lengthen the Prop shaft ( 3-1/2" ) inches.

Again this is just for future 4L80E conversion people searching for porp/drive shaft changes.

Game On ! ! !

The reason I know this is I was told that the difference was 2-1/2"s and went to install them today

I found out the hard way and was wanting to make sure someone else didn't run into the same problems I just did.

Thanks also George.

Yep....I had a DS shortened 2.5"/balanced at a local shop and found out it needs to be ~3.5" shorter when I got it home and tried to install it.

I shortened mine the other 1 inch myself just for testing purposes (ds shop was closed by the time I found out it wouldnt work) and it seems to do just fine. It doesnt even vibrate up to 80ish mph.....so far ;) .

I'll put this info in the Gilbert thread in my vender's forum as well. This shouldn't have happened to you guys. David, on your rear driveshaft, you had to have it shortened by 3.25" to 3.5" also, correct? I was searching and saw where you were told only to shorten it by an 1.5". That won't work.

I had it shortened by 2.5" as I was told in another thread. Went to install it and it wouldnt fit so I guestimated and shortened it another 1.0" myself (total of 3.5" shorter) and it fit perfect.

To sum it up the rear drive shaft must be shortened 3.5".
