Found this today while searching for some other stuff, be good for anybody using a newer 80e core for the rear lube line fitting when going to -06 line.

Link...not something I am making.

Good find I have just used the sonnax kit with with a adapter fitting but I wish the would elmeinate the quick connection and just make a thread in a/n fitting to me there is just more room for leaks but still a good find

The threads are still 1/4" npt or 1/4" npsm+nylon washer right?
But the GM adapter has this "pipe". I guess that pipe are important for getting the oil where its suspose to go?

This is from a post by George Blake:

You can take the same fittings out of your 700 and it screws right into the 1996 and older 4L80E so whatever your using on the 700, they'll work on the 80. Like Mike said though, the 80 will need 90 deg fitting instead of 45 deg fittings. The converter is purple like all the Precision Industries converters

Only revision on lube fittings was the front lube vs rear lube units. Front lube like shown in the pic is a 1996 or older variety and you can use your 700 fittings. On the 1997 and newer where the fitting is in the rear, you MUST us an adaptor for the REAR fitting. Your front fitting works fine. The rear fitting actually goes into the center support. You'll need one of these to use your 700 cooling lines if you've already got braided ones in place"

That is the sonnax kit I was talking about. I dont like the cheasy line so I just uses a hose with that style fitting crimped on it.

the extention piece on the fitting is a HAVE to have item on trans wont last long is goes strait into the centor support

the old vs new case he is talking about if you look at that picture(it is a newer style 80e) where that line runs. On the older cases the other cooler line fitting is right there you can kinda see the hump where the older ones were threaded.
