4L80E shaft help

i just recieved my 4l80e t-case input shaft from speed inc and on the surface just below the splines there is a unpolished or machined area. just wonder if this is going to affect anything or do i have to send it back

If you can feel it I would say you will have issues. That area slides in to a bushing. You will likely have issues of either the shaft or the bushing wearing prematurely.

yes i have contacted speed inc and they are going to take care of it. it sucks was so pumped for it hope the other shafts are ok

I doubt they would send you a crappy one. If you ask me, as long as they make it right you should be at least mostly happy.

it only needs be shiney where a bearing or a seal is not all of the shaft is touching something

yes i understand that, but the spot that is not shiny resides in a bushing as TYTILIDE has informed and will cause premature wear . Did some quick measurements with a digital caliper (not the most acurate but its all i had) and also looks to be alittle out of round as well, but Speedinc have been very helpful and are taking care of it. i sent it back tonight so now the waiting game
