I think the prop shaft on my sy is not long for this world. The ruber boot at the front is torn. I assume this is not good. I am thinking either having dynotech re do it or buy one from atr. What do you think ? Also does anybody have a wed address or phone number for dynotech ?
Thanks
Well either you can choose to have your local shop make one out of spicer components, you can have brandon make you one out of spicer components, or you can have Dynotech/Al Dustan make you one out of spicer components... your choice..
FYI: I decided I'd give the Dynotech/Al Dustan "Upgrade" unit a try... price is $490... nice looking shaft only problems are the rubber piece of the the tranny linkage rubs against the shaft which in time will cause that rubber piece to break apart.. Other "main" problem is the metal piece holding the tranny linkage itself..There was only about 1/8" clearence between the metal linkage and the propshaft... Most likely you're going to need to have this taken off and ground down 1/4" ... Before I had the linkage ground I had a vibration.. stuck the truck up ona lift; gave the shaft a look over... Where once there was black paint on the shaft I could now see bare metal about 1/2" long on the middle portion of the shaft.. Tranny linkeage was acting as a lathe on the shaft when the transmission shifted gears or hit high speed/rpm... Again this was solved by simply removing the metal piece holding the linkage and having it ground down 1/4".. Just make sure you get the newer style cardigan unit...
You can buy the propshaft from either:
