Looking to have a 4l80e rebuilt

I am looking for recommendations on who to send my 4l80e to for a rebuild. I would like to have it built locally to save on shipping but the quotes I got locally from a few shops seemed high so I thought I would check the internet. I have read good things about Rossler but I have not been able to reach them during their business hours. And I talked to Certified Transmission and they said they would give their full warranty with their top of the line Road Ripper 3000 and that seemed like a good transmission but I had a hard time talking to any one individual that would be building the transmission because they build theirs in an assembly line like fashion.
If anyone has any recommendations on a reputable builder that they know I would appreciate your feedback.

A stock 4l80e is a fairly stout trans. How much hp are you planning to run through it? A local shop should easily be able to freshen it and upgrade the clutch pack, etc and be strong enough for most of our trucks. If you are going big power then shipping is a small part of the cost considering the costs of the hard part upgrades.

I have my high HP tranny work done at RPM transmissions in Indiana.

Not sure if this helps, but my local guy told be a stock rebiuld would be around $1200 and upgraded clutches, bands ect and hd2 shift kit (basicly everything but hard parts) for alittle less then $2000.

For any good with their hands syty owner , i always reccomend buying some manuals and doing it yourself . If your going to remove and replace it yourself , IMO , your capable of the overhaul . The only specialty tool i needed to buy was the pump puller , they run 80-100 on ebay .

Your not going to hurt that tranny with how big all the internals are . Saving money for other upgrades isnt bad either . :tup:
