Re: LSx SyTy Swap Information

anyone run the current performance LS conversion harness for these trucks? I acquired one for mine that plugs into the firewall and retains factory gauges. Seeing if anyone ran into any issues.

Yes i have a current performance harness for mine. Had a few issues had to send it back once to get it fixed. The problem was i had a 92 typhoon and they use a 93 harness the had there i believe. I sent both harnesses bad to them and they fixed in no time at all. Also sent me a check for the shipping it back to them. All in all i would use them again.

Are you having any issues with your harness?

Re: LSx SyTy Swap Information

Thinking about this swap. Will a swap from a truck clear the hood with the tall intake manifold and will the truck accessories clear if the short intake from a car is used.

Yes on the intake part, and the truck accesories should clear, it's more of what might hit the steering box kind of thing. If oyur running a/c I went with the high mount, but I would suggest notching the frame to keep the factory a/c down low. Makes for more room up top later on for a air intake set up, unless you want to run it to the drivers side. The engine compartment gets pretty full on these things. You going turbo or n/a?

No the GTO stuff didn't clear, but they did it the 62 Biscayne. Oil pan is a modded h3 hummer, exhaust manifolds are custom stainless. I bought 2 sets of different manifolds, cut them up and welded them together. Complete 3 inch stainless exhaust ( single exhaust) not dual. RPM mounts didn't work and neither did the cross member, bought a new harness and repinned it, stock rad with corvette fans and custom cold air intake, the filter is down low behind the drivers headlight,.

Re: LSx SyTy Swap Information

I have a very stout 700r4 and don't want to swap to 80e and all the things that need to be done.

cant I just buy crank spacer and kickdown cable bracket and mount it to a ls engine? do I need a special flexplate from a certain year truck 2wd or 4wd?

Did lots, trick flow heads, trick flow pushrods, roller rockers green top injectors. Also note I pulled the valve cover today and one of the rocker studs is broken and a push rod is bent. So much for car craft this weekend.

Trans tunnel modification should also be added to this list, I was actually surprised at how much a couple inches of lifting the trans/transfer case dug into the tunnel.

only need to do it if you are going to a 80-e, 60e or 700 r4 doesn't require it. So not really mentioned.

there's allot of good info listed but seems to be from years ago ... does anyone have any new info or products for a LSxx swap ... I'm fairly new to the SyTy scene and I'm considering a LS swap or rebuilding my 4.3
