Old GB 4L80e Mods...?

Looking for someone that may be familiar with or know someone that may be familiar with the old GB 4L80e mod with the center support and oversized 2nd gear piston? I'm having troubles finding a shop that is familiar with this or knows what I'm talking about....

Would like to find someone that can actually do the mod...

I've sent GB an email...but don't really expect a reply...and don't even know if it's good anymore. But this is something that made a lot of sense when I use to talk to him about it...

What little I talked to him about it I think it was something he came up with and was doing, not 100 percent for sure about that but that is what I gathered

Yea....just wasn't sure if it was something that other shops were doing as well. That would suck if it was limited to him.

Ask Jeff Scott how this mod worked out for him in his GB 4L80e.

And a host of others, myself included. IMO, Don't deal with him even if he responds to your email. He didn't do alot of what he said he did for people. You would probably be better off going to a major high performance local trans guy that is trusted by racers in your area. Or a major trans comp like rossler for your build.

So I'm guessing this mod was just a lot of smooth talkin? Thanks for the heads up guys. Yea...I've already been talking to some local shops....but I had remembered George talking about the big piston mod and had it on my list of things to do... Guess I'll carry on without it.

The big piston mod is a good mod when done right, the only one that is doing it I know of is Rossler Trans.

In my case I machined the piston and went through side of the center support, George informed me that would be ok and filled it with JB weld. JB doesn't hold pressure. If someone needs pictures I can post them. It is a valid mod just needs to be done properly and requires parts as well as custom machining.

Let me know what you find out from Rossler. I am also looking to have a 4L80 assembled for my bowtie truck. I have an early 4x4 core and George's premium rebuild kit, along with the Transgo kit and the billet shafts. I would like to have the big piston mod done as well.
