RPM 4L80E shift cable too long? pics inside

Hi guys, i tried installing my 80e shift cable from rpm and it seems like it is too long on the console end, fully collapsed it is still to long, i tried a friends 80E cable and still no luck, has anyone run across this, the trans end looks o.k and there is a ton of adjustment on the shift bracket, i really don't want to hack up my console to make it work, it is coming down to the wire as the canadian nats is this coming weekend

i put the stocker back in and it works fine :tup:
