Re: Thinking about this trans

Looks in good condition

Additional costs:

prop shafts lengthening/shortening :$250 ish at a guess
transmission brace cross member : you could maybe buy one off here or get someone to fab it up for you. Again, prob about $250-350 depending on labour costs
Shifter bracket for the trans :$20
Shifter cable:$100-150
Convertor restall:$150-250
27 spline output shaft/rebuild etc - $400
dipstick and lines: $300

The TCI and harness are $600 alone, TC is about $600. Trans core is $250? You're gambling $600 that it's ok but it sounds like it's fine. You should be able to power up the trans and the TCI unit and connect to a laptop to verify it's ok. Computer illiteracy was my guess when you wondered why someone would swap it.

I think you found a great deal.

Sounds like a great deal and Mark looks to be in line with whatever else is needed . If you don't already have the swap shaft , look into the long splined shaft that can be cut down to fit . After picking up my machined and cryo treated one from Blake years ago , he mentioned a make/model that you can "in theory" cut some of the end off and use as is for a less hp application . I purchased one off of eBay to have as a backup just in case , and have it in the garage if you want me to verify it against the dimensions of my good one ?

Re: Thinking about this trans

Just remember you can't just cut length off the 4l80 shaft to make it fit. 4l80 shaft 32 spline, 700 is only 27. I do have a 4l80e output shaft for sale from CK performance that has 27 teeth, fits into our stock t-case. Pm me if interested. Hope this helps......
