Figure i'd make a project thread for this truck. It's at one hell of a starting point for me, and i know it'd taken a lot of time and effort to get it to where it is. Here is what i know.
Truck:
1992, Green/Gray, 87k mi on body
Motor/Drivetrain:
1998 LS1 fully stock motor, 28k mi
Lingenfelter Intake Manifold
2 Borg Warner T04 turbos (.69 / __ )
FAST Fuel rails
FAST 78mm Billet Throttle Body
4l80e with Hughes 2500 convertor
Big Stuff 3 controlling motor/tranny
60lb. Siemens injectors
Walbro 255
Suspension/Steering/Brakes:
JS tubular a-arms
QA1 coil shocks all 4 corners
Front/Rear sway bars
some sort of mono/dual leaf spring out back
AGR steering box
Hydraboost
Baer 13"/12" disc brakes
Polished 18" Z06 wheels
275-40-18 BFG G force tires
Misc:
RacePak UItradash
Some pics that i took today:
as you can see...it's pretty damn clean. I haven't cleaned it at ALL except for the windshield to get the hauler dirt off so i could see. It won't take much effort to have it show worthy for NATS, thats for sure.
Dislikes:
Not sure i like the feel of the AGR steering box - might swap in a zq8 at some point. Although i'm not use to 18s on a syty, so that might be part of the feel that i have to get used to (although i might ditch the z06s since i'm not sure i like them all that much).
Also truck is prolly about 80% tuned, still needs some work. Tranny tune is outta wack. Runs and drives great, feels great under acceleration, doesn't spool super fast in first gear. Haven't launched it yet, haven't tried to spool it under power braking either...so no clue how it'll respond yet. But rolling off the line into the throttle it still goes good.
Sounds nothing like a SyTy. Has dual exhaust coming out in front of the rear wheels. Sounds good, just not syty-like. I can make do.
Hydraboost + Baers = one firm pedal. It'll just take some getting used to. Stops great, just no feel involved in the foot (at this point anyway).
So thats about the only "bad" things i have to say about the thing. It's the cleanest/nicest truck i've owned overall, easily. I would love to get #2320 into this condition one day.
