Just wondering if there was any typhoon owners that have their ty's currently insured to drive. Im thinking about joining the darkside and would like to meet up to see one up close and possibly be taken for a ride as a passenger to get a feel for them. I currently have a 93 svt cobra and 95 s351 saleen but have always liked the look and mystique of the ty's and sy's....thanks Aaron

Re: Vancouver Typhoon owners

I live in Olympia. The Sy/Ty are a completely different feel compared to the V8 power. I have had 400-600 hp Vett's and camaros. To me the feeling is very deceptive and different, but still good. I plan on selling mine as she is a garage queen. I have put 10 miles on her over the past 2 years...partially due to rebuilding a new transmission, but since 2007, I put 10 K miles on her. I hate to sell her but I rarely drive it anymore. Kids are growing and priorities change :( Anyway, if your up north anytime in the next few months, shoot me a pM and LMK, maybe I can give ya a ride ;) There is on in Everett for sale that has 180K miles on her for 7K, however, it's a POS....... But, you could test drive that one. Just a though.

I'm in Abbotsford with a Sy, but it's been parked for about a year due to lack of finances to fix a few maintenance items. Anyone want to donate $1500?? lol

Anyway, you're welcome to shoot me a PM if you want to come out to have a look at it, just don't mind the dust.

I've also seen a green/grey Ty a couple times at a car meet in Langley. (last time I saw it was October(?)) But I haven't been able to speak with the owner.

Re: Vancouver Typhoon owners

Ya sorry, since the Sy has been off the road, I've been neglecting SyTy.net... and the Sy, really. She needs ball joints, tie-rods ends and an axle shaft. Plus she's got misc electrical gremlins and a dead battery to boot.

We've been trying to sell our condo and get into a house so trying to focus on paying stuff off or saving. Unfortunately the Sy has taken a back seat in it all.

Hopefully things are better by the end of summer and we can make it out to a meet this year.

Wow, I was living with a friend in Abby, just moved to Vancouver. Wish i had been here earlier in the year. I have my Sy park at my place now but its on the I dont know what i want to do with it list. It runs but also has some electrical bugs, and what not.

Im looking for somewhere I could work on it, but i need to get it safitied and insured first.
