Some of you guys know my syclone got stolen. So i been talking to this guy Who is selling his syclone very nice looking truck #1212. So i went all the way to Chicago Just to fly Right back home with out a truck very unhappy. I had 91 pearlchevy go and look at it for me but i dont know if he dident smell the burning oil ? I took it for a test drive and i could smell it so when we got back to his house i open up the hood and pulled off the oil cap and out comes the smoke !!! He tryed to say all trucks have some smoke and i told him well my last syclone didnt and my typhoon didnt. After that he said it was the oil he put in it so i told him what i would pay and he didnt like it so i came back home. 500 bucks Just to go look at a syclone wit a blown motor.

Sorry to hear that. I know that you were hoping to just drive it back home too.
From when we talked, sounds like you're kinda up against the gun as well.
LMK if you find any that you need CarFax's on right away or anything. If I don't reply quick enough, you have my # and can feel free to call.
Thieves suck.
Wish we could bill insurance for our time spent trying to replace our shit.

You will always have a little smoke coming out of the valve train?? Like someone said already it just might have been a faulty pcv system??

Re: waste of time and money

Every year the selection gets worse . The "right" syty is worth traveling for in my opinion . Your going to pay up one way or the other honestly . Either up front on a nicer example that needs less or later when a cheaper one needs a million little things , sometimes not little . Once its all said and done you'll see the total spent price is comparable to the more expensive one you first passed on .

Happy Hunting .

Re: waste of time and money

first off, i'm selling the truck in question.
and second, my truck does NOT have a pcv system. i just have a breather tube on the valve cover that dumps to the atmosphere.

when warsaw took the oil cap off and saw a little smoke come out, he concluded that my motor was blown! wtf?
i tried telling him that he was seeing blow-by gasses and that this truck doesnt have a pcv system which would suck these gases back into the intake tract, but he already made up his mind that my truck has a blown motor. he kept bringing up that his old syclone didnt smoke with the oil cap off.....which i'm sure didnt, since he more than likely had a pcv system installed.

i'm sorry you dont have a better understanding on how combustion engines work.
i even felt sorry for you coming all the way over here, but in the end, i did nothing wrong. i did not misrepresent the truck or mislead you in anyway.

i even offered to give you money back if the motor "blew" on your way back home, as you assumed it would.
letting my truck go for half of what we agreed upon because you saw blow-by gasses was not going to happen.
and thank you for trying to blacklist my truck as having a "blown motor".
peace.

I agree with you 100% mine does the same thing, because my pcv system is also relesed into the atmosphere, seems like a waste to me an sounds like you were very polite an even offred money if the engine did blow!! You were tottaly in the right here, someone just doesnt know how engines work. An i wouldnt worry about it, put the truck back up on here for sale. And someone with a brain stem will get a good truck

I called a good friend and asked if it could've been anything else he said no and i am sure he knows more about syty then me and you skata. And for you iphoondyou if you got smoke then your motor is also junk do some reading son.

Wow am i in the wrong here ? I found that info here on syty.net it say if there is smoke then the piston rings are done for ? Correct me if i am wrong.

Re: waste of time and money

Bad rings, bad valve seal, bad valve giuld seals, bad pcv system, no pcv system......all of these things can cause a little smoke out the valve covers.....a little wont hurt anything....alittle....:2cents:

Ok well since you wana be a wise ass i can to be a wise ass also!! I have been a tech now for KIA for 14 years, and i have done more oil changes than you i can promiss you that!! Every single oil cap i have taken off has had some sort of what you call (blown engine smoke) come out from the filler neck attached to the valve cover!! This is what we call "valve traine an crank case gas's" this smoke you speak of is returned to the intake to be burned up in the cumbustion prosess via the PCV system. This is so the engine can burn up the harmfull fumes the engine creates. Think of this system as a britta water filter for your sink, even tho you can drink water right from your sink you feel safer if you filter it twice. Now im not even sure why i bothered my dad over your punk ass but i did to even further clairify for you that I am right an you are wrong!!! He has been a GM tech for longer than you an I have been alive (39 years on GM products) and even he said you are wrong an it is you who needs to go back to school!!! I have done my schooling!! If you want to carry this conversation to over the phone my number is 8478476696, i would be more than happy to properly educate you on how an internal conbustion engine works.
Steve

Oh and im just curious if my engine is junk how did i drive it all the way from New York to Illinois, and she runs a 12.9 1/4 all day with not a lick of problems???? Oh did i mention i daily drive it also?? And just for the record my brothers syclone must be blown up also?? Even tho it only has 50 miles on a fresh engine overhaul??

Look i dont care what your truck can run are if it smokes thats your truck/ your problem. Ok so i can set this straight skata picked me up from the airport we went to his house and i over looked the truck it was very nice for a 15k truck. So then we went for a test drive the truck had alot of power pulled the full 15 psi but when we Were on the test drive i could smell oil burning. So we go back to his house and i pulled the oil cap and alot of smoke came out not vapor and thats when i told him it had blow by. He said i might Just be the oil he put in it rotilla for a diesel truck. So we went to Walmart for some mobileone went back and changed the oil. I cut the filter open to see if there was anything in it and there was not. After the oil change we went for another test drive and came back and there was Just vapor. For the amount of smokes that came out the first time is what led me to believe that it has blow by. You Were not there and did not see the amount of smoke that came out of the oil. There aint no need for name calling are down talking you dont know me and if you have a problem with me come to Denver and we can work it out anyway you want.
