Broken front sway bar mounts?

Do these break often? I had the drivers side break a few months ago and figured it was just a fluke. Today their was a lot mor squeaking than usual so looked under the passenger side and found the mount also broke at the bolt hole. Never read any post where someone would have this problem.
The bracket concerned is the one attached to the lower control arm.

do you have an aftermarket bar? or has the bar been reinstalled/installed lately? maybe it's under tension from improper install?

The bar was reinstalled a few months ago with new energy suspension front mounts and bushings and new bushings at the lower control arm mounts. I don't know if it is a improper install since I installed the lower arm first loose then the front mounts, then back to tighten the lowwer control arm mount last. No rust or loose issues. Original sway bar.

if i remember right you should leave all the suspension loose until you get it sitting at ride height and then tighten it. otherwise it causes binding and extra tension

Thanks for the replies. Can't remember how I installed it but anyway I'll be installing the RPM coilover kit which has been boxed up since june 07 sometime this month.

If the bolts backed out even a little, the ears start flexing and break off at the bolt hole. Been there, done that. Use a lockwasher and/or threadlocker.

Actually the bolts did not get loose but as I removed the brackets yesterday the bolts were torqued pretty good. I remember having a hard time installing the sway bar and I probablly installed with the truck suspension loaded which put stress on the mounts.
So when I do re-install- I'll be sure to have the wheel up on blocks.

from my experience it's almost impossible to get the swaybar to install with the truck in the air. you have to load the front end such that the control arms are parallel so you can get the bolts in.

if you try and do it when the control arms are drooping, the control arm end won't line up. you can get 1 end in and the frame mounts but not the other end. also depends on the ride height.
