    Cash for Clunkers Sy...SAVED!!!

Re: Cash for Clunkers Sy Re: Cash for Clunkers Sy Definitely, there's no way I should even be thinking about it, but I hate terribly to see these go off to the crusher for no reason. But think of the number that have been crushed after crash testing, the number of development trucks that...

    Cash for Clunkers Sy...SAVED!!!

Re: Cash for Clunkers Sy Re: Cash for Clunkers Sy I live in Canton, Illinois, about 2 hours from Taylorville. I've fixed a lady's alternator belt in the middle of a tornado in 1999 in Taylorville, in fact (used to work in Springfield.) Had this been even a month ago, I would have probably...

    Split : RPM/Mike Lee/SyTy Perf

Re: Split : RPM/Mike Lee/SyTy Perf From blk00z28: "Let's not lose someone else who offers services for our trucks and kill what's taken more then 5 years to make. Because in 5 years when your looking for a set of headers and can't fine any remember this thread." I feel the same way, but at...

    Split : RPM/Mike Lee/SyTy Perf

Re: Split : RPM/Mike Lee/SyTy Perf From HARMON from a previous page: "All i have to say is to be honest with us. If its gonna take 2 months to get something from someone else...let us know upfront. Not string us along." I had my truck built by RPM starting in 2004. I told him at the time...

    Knock

Re: Knock I am running it in open loop just for that reason; the closed loop seemed to overcorrect on the fueling, especially when things got weird with the timing. With open-loop fueling, I'm running right at 11:1, with an 85-percent duty cycle. I've tried backing off on the fuel a little...

    Knock

Re: Knock It's a FAST system, the old-style, (not XFI) but I can certainly post a log if you'd like to look at it. I checked the timing about two weeks ago, and it was right on with what the FAST thought it was. I checked the fuel pressure about a week ago, it was about 50 static, and goes up...

    Knock

Re: Knock I'm not sure what pistons are in the motor (other than that they are forged)...could there be some weird interaction between the heads and pistons, as in the dish is in the wrong place or something? I'm trying to think of anything that could be basically wrong with this motor...it...

    Knock

Re: Knock I suppose I should think about selling it. I could probably part it out, but sheesh, who wants to take out just a crank? It's got so many good parts on it that have barely been used, though. It hurts me to even think about it, but I don't see any other choice.

    Knock

Re: Knock Just got the Autolite 103 plugs in, gapped at .028. I took it out for a short spin, and the pinging isn't improved. It is certainly a warmer day than last time, but it pings at 12psi, and pings more at 15psi. I tried it without methanol at first, and methanol cured the 12psi ping...

    Knock

Re: Knock My highest injector duty cycle during the high-ping runs, at 11:1 A/F, was 85.1%. When I was running too much fuel (9:1 A/F) I saw 99.5% DC a few times...but I've never seen it run lean. I am logging it with FAST almost every time. Every time I plant my foot to the floor I cringe...

    Knock

Re: Knock It definitely has the "third bolt" hole that you mentioned, and I see a probably-not-stock bracket holding the dipstick down. I'm pretty sure it's Vortec...so I've been running the wrong plugs. When my 103's get here, I'll see if that helps.

    Knock

Re: Knock So without pulling off the cylinder heads, how can I tell that I actually have Vortec heads? I mean, the intake was modded (extended) and the original heads were re-drilled for the bolts...but I can't say that I've actually seen the underside of the combustion chamber. Will a...

    Knock

Re: Knock Slight update...it rained a bunch last Friday, and I was busy helping people clean up their flooded basements all weekend. I noticed that the Autolite 103 plugs are MUCH longer than the NGK UR5 plugs, at least from the pictures I can get off of images.google.com. Compare: Autolite...

Re: Knock 1. change the fuel pump. USA made Walbro pump I have a Walbro 255 high-pressure pump I bought in 2003 and installed in 2004...I assume this would be USA-made, but I don't have the original box for it any more. 2. get the racetronix fuel pump wiring harness. I only have the original...

    Knock

Re: Knock I set the fast manually to 12 degrees of timing at idle, because that's where the end of the timing mark is. In fact I set a whole range of them around idle to 12, so it wouldn't be wandering into neighboring cells. With the timing light on it, it was sitting right at 12 degrees. I...
