Question Can I run these bolt-ons on a stock tune? ---

I have RPM electric fans, a RPM cold air intake setup, and the RPM a/a intercooler I want to install. Are those bolt ons that I can run with the stock tune?

The only mod the truck has right now is a 3" downpipe-back exhaust and a KN panel filter.

I want to run a Turbo Tweak or RPM chip when I install the Turbo/Heads/Cam ... and didnt want to have to get two chips.

I dont think I can put everything on at once, and may need to break up the install into these two steps.

I wouldnt run it like this for too long, but it may be a couple thousand miles ... and will keep an eye on things with Datamaster.

Thanks for the help ---

I would install a better fuel pump & an adjustable FPR if you do not have them already.

Stock they are on the verge of running lean.

W/a C.A.I., free flowing exhaust, those will change the A/F ratio a bit.

If you just cruise it around & not get on it, that would be fine.

The CAI and the 3"dp is gonna affect stuff. Drive it nicely(good luck) and you should be fine till you get a proper tune

I would recommend installing a wideband
sensor to get a idea what your A/F ratio readings are !!!

That will definately come when I get my 3" downpipe installed , right now its just the stock downpipe ... do you think its worth it to get it welded with a bung just in case?

WOW, I totally forgot the "reliability" mods ... I have a fuel pump , a racetronix pump hotwire kit, and the accufab AFPR. I need to double check to make sure I have the right pump.

Is the RPM c.a.i. made just for the stock turbo ... I will have to ask Mike about that.

GREAT ideas guys, thanks for the advice ... I feel better about getting this stuff taken care of already!!!

Re: Can I run these bolt-ons on a stock tune? ---

Would this be a good time to install a 3 bar map too?

I have an electric boost controller, should I wait on that until I upgrade the turbo... if I turn up the boost I definately need a tune, right?

I have a full tank of gas right now, I guess it makes sense to wait to do the fuel pump with the tank empty, or does it not really matter? ---

You could but 3bar map won't work with stock 2bar map chip.. you'd have to get your custom chip first to work with the 3bar map but you wanna wait on that until you get your parts installed right?

It'll give you better boost control and you don't have to turn up the boost just because you install this... I wouldn't turn up the boost at all until you get your tune in sync..

You could always disconnect the fuel line and run it to a container then apply 12v power to the test port of the fuel pump circuit by the dizzy... which would run the pump and result in the pump emptying the tank for you. or use up that gas before you drop the tank because gas weights allot more then water.

Gas weighs less by volume (is less dense) than water. But otherwise, yes, use the test port at the distributor to empty it because it's still damn heavy.

You have a Syclone, don't drop the tank. Lift the bed off instead.
