Body swap

I like the body lines on the new Canyon. Should anyone even bother to swap the canyon's body on a sy frame when the Canyon can be had with a V8 ? Will it even fit?

Re: Body swap

You should be banned for even thinking that a canyon is nice. Check the wheel base out. Won't happen.

lol. They are good trucks but I would say the v8 one is its own thing. I would do a sleeper as one of those with a 4472 transfer case swap rather then a syty motor. Kinda a bunch going on. To each their own would be interesting swap if it happened though.

Re: Body swap

I'd do a Canyon with the 5.3 and 4x4. Put a magnacharger, LT's and a tune. Save some cash for when the tranny grenades and the build it.

Leave it in 2WD for the burnout and switch to auto 4wd on the launch. You'll tear people up, even on truck tires. Just look up the Parish truck.

I think would stay with the ls, no longer available from the factory, would have to get an earlier model.

You think?

You're gonna be outraged because I was thinking of doing an awd swap into a GBody.

You can do what you want to, I'm not going to be outraged, it's your money/time I just think they are a hunk of crap. I bought a new one when they first came out and returned it tot he dealer and got my money back. The 5 cylinder engine is a joke and it rattled like a old city bus, a recall on the paint, the off road "skid" package was pathetic. They should have just kept the s series for a few more years.

Re: Body swap

Actually, one would have to use the Bravada stuff. It's closer dimensionally. I'm waiting to score a cheapy one with damaged engine and ugly paint to jump on it. I'd do a V8 though. I want to do my rust bucket 1986 Pontiac 2+2 this way.
You're right, a GN would be killer of done right.

Re: Body swap

Is there a hater club up in here or what? I suppose I shouldn't post anything until I feel confident enough it will be accepted by each and everyone. No more posts from me until I learn what everybody likes or dislikes. Maybe this way I can avoid being banned.

Re: Body swap

Side note...The 3.5/3.7 I5 engines are crap. I blew a 3.5 with no abuse in an 05 Canyon. Rod knock on a 3.7 09 Canyon. Just got rid of my POS H3 because it was about to do the same. Oh yeah, the engines were all under 60k.

Re: Body swap

This is the only pic of a Canyon that I like.

This is just after John Force won the Traxxas Nitro Shootout.
