Re: Changes for 2012

Heard great things about Steve and the engines he builds. I know I love the XFI tuning video he did

Good luck!

Re: Changes for 2012

Steve is a wealth of knowledge! He spec'd the cam, did the cylinder hone, and drilled/welded the intake. The rest is all mel. When I am in town and I have the time, I go there and wrench for him a bit. I have also been his 'one man pit bitch' at the drag strip. Lots of knowledge gathered there!

This combo's goal is 1000hp at around 20# with no I/C. Depending on the results, I might throw in an I/C. I want to really get data and start playing with chassis to get real good 60's, then build a nasty bitch!

Re: Changes for 2012

No I/C? You looking to run E85 or Methanol?

Re: Changes for 2012

iI have been on E85 for almost 4 years now. the old V6 combo was tested without IC (go back to my thread CHANGES FOR 2011 and check it out) and was quite stout. Will see how it works again with this combo. Lots of testing to come!

Re: Changes for 2012

Headers came in today. Will have to make the crossover tube, turbo mount, etc. Looks like there will also be some clearancing of the valvecovers needed.

Re: Changes for 2012

I was really hoping to see what you could do with the v6.....I do understand going v8 though. Nolan told me for the $ I spent on my 700hp v6 I could of built a 1200+hp v8. Good luck with it, im sure its going to be a beast....

Re: Changes for 2012

Alex, what are you planning to run for the TB? Dang, I need to seriously consider V6 VS V8. I have almost everything I need for the V6 engine build....but an old skool V8 FI and turbo or 2...hmmm.

I will be reusing the same setup from the V6...a Precision Turbo elbow, Wilson Manifolds 80mm Ford-style TB, and GM IAC/TPS.
