93 Ty, wht/wht in the PacNW. #1631

http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/cto/2910695007.html

1993 GMC TYPHOON. 4.3 V/6 turbo. 700R4 trans. Very nice condition. 137XXX miles. #1631. If you are looking at this you know what these trucks are. I've owned this truck not quite a year and i'm sad to say I have to sell it.

Falken ZE512 tires w/1500 miles on them on stock Ty wheels
Rebuilt A/C R134
Rebuilt transfer case
Resealed transmission. Was previously rebuilt
New converter
New fog lights and brackets. Did not have on car when purchased
Currently running Code59 w/3bar map remote chip holder
AEM Tru Boost controller
AEM Wide Band O2
JVC KD AVX44 Radio CD/DVD Video/Bluetooth and more
New 3" exhaust
More...

This is a very clean nice driver. Has some flaws but its a used truck. NO rust. Have a Moats APU-1 chip burner with cables and chips. Everything you need to burn your own chips less program. Will let this go with truck if I get close to asking price. More pics if needed. On a side note this car has a history and it says the engine was rebuilt but I have NO papers to prove that. It runs very good with no leaks and no smoke. Not a warranty, just information. $8795.00 OBO

I met the guy at the end of summer for a brief GTG. Sad, nice truck... was hoping to meet more people from my area.

Re: 93 Ty, wht/wht in the PacNW. #1631

Yes sad to say I'm selling #1631. Love this truck. ALL previous owners complaints have been fixed. I can't believe he couldnt find the answers to the problems. I'm trying to be nice. Runs great. Just got 20 MPG on a hwy trip last week. I know this isnt the best but still alot of tuning to be done. Turned out to be a very nice truck. Does everything these trucks should do and then some. Has some small issues but nothing major.

I think it may be sold to a previous sy/ty member. Will know in a couple of hours. Medical issues are forcing sale. But thats the way things go first your money and then your Typhoon. Dan.

Out of curiosity... what did you end up doing to fix them?

Re: 93 Ty, wht/wht in the PacNW. #1631

Well, the vibration was 2 fold. All bellhousing bolts but two were gone and the two that were left were loose. The cause was the converter. The lock-up was appliying and releasing causing a bad vibration. I had that worked out on the way home after purchasing the truck. Tightened up and replaced bolts, ordered converter, put it in and rebuilt transfer case at the same time. Vibration gone. Resealed transmission and tightened up oil cooler adaptor and lines and oil leak was gone. When he lost the front driveshaft it tore up the shift linkage. You could hardly move the lever. Repaired that. Had toe-out causing the truck to wander badly. Can't see how someone could miss 1/4" toe-out. Culpret was one of lthe tie-rod sleeves was loose and the ends were pulling apart. causing toe-out. And then no dash lights, wires left off and cut, air conditioner hard lines were bend and broken at fitting from being bent out of the way. Numerious little things but the truck was and is straight and clean. Fog light brackets and fog lights were gone. Replaced them.

All in all its a nice truck. Motor runs well and strong. Code 59 is comming along. Stock rims in my opinion make it look better at least to me.

So I said what I didn't really want to say but it wasn't the trucks fault. Dan.

Great news, Dan! I'm glad you were able to work out the issues that had Scott and previous owners stumped. Hopefully you can make a full recovery, maybe find another one of these down the road.

Re: 93 Ty, wht/wht in the PacNW. #1631

Yes, I took it. It was my fathers (IRISHTY). He had an unplanned medical expense and he sold the Ty to me. I've not had much time to drive or do anything with it. IMO he was selling it too cheap. This site really drives down the price of these rigs. I have had a Syclone (w/13k miles) and two other Typhoons that were in very good condition. This truck is in better shape than any of those were, and I'm picky. I wish I knew the engine build. Its fast as hell and its running low boost. Bottom line is, I helped out my dad. I just had my second child and this thing collects dust in the garage. I would love to keep it, cleanest I have seen that isn't a show truck or a trailer queen, but I require a four door SUV. If I don't sell it, then I guess I'll just have lovely garage art until I get the time to do something with it. Since Im not independently wealthy, it would be nice to have an extra few thousand around to help procure my next vehicle. Thanks for lookin'.
