Re: Rockford Racecraft is trying to rip me off.
I swear by the facts, something that is left out of a vast majority of post on here. I read more opinion than fact. If people based all their post off facts and facts alone this would be a much more productive place.
With that being said. I don't know anything about this, so I will not post a comment or opinion. Shame others don't think the same.
There was someone on here once that posted he was charged twice for a cam. Made multiple posts about it. When time was taken to explain the invoice to him he learned that he was not in fact charged twice but was given a small credit for the stock cam and then charged for the aftermarket. Did that fact ever get cleared up? Do people knwo that? No. You all read what you want and run with it.
This guy has 6 posts. No one knows who he is, myself included. Let more come out before posting anything, especially people who have no first hand experience.
This gentleman may very well have a solid case/argument. I can't say either way. But leave my name out of everything please. I have nothing to do with anything involving this.
Hello Silly and fellow enthusiasts,
let me introduce myself. Mr. Nelson here from Indiana. I have met you from the Rockford Racing site. Though only briefly. I do know from several of your posts that you are a big Rockford Racecraft supporter. I have been to Loves Park a few times and have seen your Ty, sitting on the lift for quite some time. Very nice Ty you have there. I would also have to say that your post was more pleasant than I had expected. I assumed since I have seen much support coming from you for this business that your opinion would be biased. You had sent me a couple of pm's on the Rockford Racing site telling me that the Rockford Racecraft does some nice work but takes longer than most places as far as a build goes. That wore me out waiting on my truck as I was told from Mr. Reffett that my build would take 8 to 12 weeks. I had dropped the truck off sometime in 2007, July or Aug. I thought he was the Syclone/Typhoon guru so I went with him. I sent him a $6000.00 check, one day mail at his request, as he told me he was going on vacation the next day.
I don't want to drag this out because I don't want to lose any readers. I tried to keep in regular contact with Reffett and in the beginning (very early), he did so. As time went on it was harder and harder to get in touch with Reffett. He had excuse after excuse as to why the build was taking so long. I didn't like it but was willing to stick it out until I found out a week later (after the fact) that my truck had been broken into, along with 9 other vehicles All of which STILL do not have windows in them that were busted out. This should have never happened to my truck as Reffett informed me that my truck would be inside. He told me that my truck was inside and that it had only been moved out for 1 or 2 days tops....but that is when it was broken into and my new (still in the box) snow alcohol kit was taken along with a few other items (i.e., stereo etc).. He couldn't even call me and tell me that it had been broken into. I surely hope that whomever reads this post checks on their truck, if it is in fact at Rockford Racecraft. I
have pictures of my truck sitting outside from friends that I have met on the Rockford Racing site, many of them covered in snow. Thats right, my 39,000 mile syclone sitting outside buried in the snow. I had originally taken my truck to Reffett for a tune and a few other items. A few days later he told me that my motor needed rebuilt. What? I just drove it 250 miles to him for a tune and now it's junk? I trusted him with my clean Syclone and my very hard earned $6000.00 and this is how he treats his customers. So on with the pick up of my truck....
I had to call Loves Park police to give me some assistance they did so as I live 250 miles away, and Reffett would not answer the phone, email, or text message. Guess what...3 minutes after an officer arrived I received a text from Reffett asking me when I wanted to pick up. I then made plans to pick up yesterday. Guess what? Reffett was conveniently not there. Instead there was a palette sitting outside in front of the door. On the palette was my transmission and transfer case. Also on the palette was someone else's block (with metal chunks) in it. Also was some very beaten up pistons and rods, a badly worn crank sitting by some junk heads.
I then told (Josh) that this was not my block and pistons and other parts. Josh then told me that Guy (Reffett) had told him to just grab some pistons and toss them on the palette. Was I supposed to accept this? I did not, but rather took many pictures of the junk that Reffett wanted me to accept as mine. The reason the police were called is because I wanted a police report especially stating that Reffett had told Josh to toss the junk on the palette for me, even though it was not mine.
This is truly a sad story. Again it is not intended to drive business away from Reffett but to only make fellow SY/TY owners better informed of such business practices. I have already been in contact with the Illinois Attorney General, the BBB, and several other people that are very interested in my situation. I would also love to invite Mr. Reffett to share his side of the story, and feel free to call me out on this. No this is not a threat by any means. I am sure several of you would be interested in what he has to say. When I went to pick the shell of my truck up after I had the last straw (not being told my truck was beaten up by vandals), Reffett told me that he would like to keep this out of court. He stated that he would like to give me $6000.00 worth of my motor build so that we could settle this. He had told me for weeks that my block and related items were at the machine shop. That is probably where it still is unless it happens to be in another fellow Sy's truck. He had told me that if the value of the motor had surpassed the $6000.00 we would work it out after that.
I do hope I didn't lose anyone in this lengthy post. I have several emails that I will share with anyone that has interest and can use them. Thanks for reading. I also hope this can count as my 7th post.
