Opinions on these wheels

What do you guys think about these wheels? Do they look too dated? There is a guy somewhat local to me selling these with the correct bolt pattern and offset 17x9.5 front, 17x11 rear. I kinda like the way they look and I never saw these on a Sy/Ty before (besides the one pictured) Just debating on whether or not to buy them. They would be going on a green/gray Ty, so similiar to whats pictured.

Here is what I have now, that I would be selling if I got these. (and this is what I mean by "dated", I just don't think these wheels look right on my truck)

they are ok. not MY cup of tea but they are different. since the rims are the right size and bolt pattern i say get 'em. :2cents:

Not bad look! If you are selling the old corvette wheels, I am interested. I am picking up my ty at the end of the month, and I dont like the wheels on it. I am in Pittsburgh

Yeah, i've always liked the way that all green Ty looked with those wheels, but that was years ago. I just don't know if i'm sold on them today. I do like the fact that they are direct fit, no spacers though. If I do sell the Vette wheels, Aeroking has first dibs, he wanted them for a while now.

I like them and if the price wasn't too crazy would prob pick them up and try them out... if they get tired quick then resell them here since they have proper fitment it shouldn't be hard to resell

Someone here (sorry, don't have the time to search) has wheels on a green/grey that match the grey cladding perfectly. It looks amazing...if I were to go "non-stock", that's what I'd do. :2cents:

buy them, rock them, sell them here later. sounds like advice i would of gave.

they are not as dated as you have now.

keep your eyes open. been seeing a lot of posts on wheels.

American Racing LeMans wheels, very nice, and very hard to find in the 9.5"/11" combo. Id pick them up even just to put them on my shelf for a while.

I know they were VERY popular on here back in the day, but have become hard to find and less popular since being discontinued and the popularity and cheap cost and availablity of Corvette repros.

Larry Brown has them on his Ty I believe. Nice wheels. I like that you can do the 11" rears without them being Vette wheels.

I know what Ty your talking about. I believe they were the newer z06 wheels in a charcoal color, they did look very nice on the green/gray. I don't have alot of cash to dump on a set of wheels though, and the price was decent on these, thats why I was tossing it around. Maybe I will grab them and see if I like them, and if not, just sell them. thanks for everyone's thoughts. :tup:

They look pretty close to what Warmpancakes has on his Ty. Or am I wrong? I like 'em either way, also dig the ZR1 wheels.

Well, I just talked to the guy about these wheels, and in the end, I think i'd have a little more $$$ into them than I want to spend. He said they are in perfect condition with good front tires, but the rears have the cords showing and need replaced. He wants $850 firm for the wheels. I was hopeing to get them for ~$650 or so and get a little use from the rears before they needed replaced, but that doesn't sound like the case.

So if anyone else is interedted in these things, here is the ad from craigslist. He is an older gentleman so I doubt he would want to ship them. But if you could pick them up, they might be a nice score. http://cleveland.craigslist.org/pts/1152908065.html
