For the noobs, both are turbo V8s making gobs of power. These runs are made on basically regular pavement without any prep. :eek: Both vehicles have gotten a slight makeover since the last time we're seen them.

SyVette going 8.99, followed by Typhoon working on launch and then going 9.04:

The VTG Typhoon ended up beating the SyVette by going 8.88!

DO EUROPEAN SECONDS HAVE A LONGER DWELL IN THEM OR IS IT THAT JUST THAT THEY HAVE A LOWER SPECIFIC GRAVITY???

HMMMM..... I WOULD THINK IT'S RUNNING IN ENGLISH SECONDS BECAUSE I PUT AMERICAN PARTS IN IT WHEN IT ALL GO T BUILT

american parts and european seconds aren't compatable are they? isnt' that a 1.7593772 microfishie deuterronamony factor conversion, or was that all changed when yoda and darth split ways?????

for what it's worth, we've always passed tech in europe. a lot of european drags are held on airports. it's actually very exciting and they draw large crowds. it's more like what drag racing was here a long time ago before revving your motor at a stoplight was an automatic ticket with loss of your insurance and impoundment of your car......

and the girls.. did i mention anything about the girls who go to the races there?????? i'm SURE i've put up pictures of races and the cars with some ladies hanging off it.....

it's a tuff life but someones gotta do it.... (i just wish it was me.....)

Last vid of the Ty that thing looks like a hand full (I am sure they both are) the way the ty wips around on the street looks nuts

actually, from what i hear the vette is an easy drive. i agree though... 8 seconds in an awd shoebox sounds too much for me.

for people who have asked me before what greg is like and what he does for a living, the video of the rocky music with the guy in the hoody joggin.... that's my buddy greg staszewski. good guy. pretty quiet. mid 30's. and if you look at the building he's jogging in front of that say's ''VTG'' that's his business. so it's not really a small place is it.... and the lineup of cars in the back are his personal racecars. the vette, ty, my old syclone, and some european and japanese muscle. he actually has some very very fast cars also for sports car type stuff. inside the shop he personally built a lot of the equipment, like the awd dyno, since that kind of equipment is either not really available there or extremely expensive. when he built the awd vette he didn't just pick up a welder and start gobbin on welds... he's actually very experienced with this kind of fab.

Are there any pictures of what appears to be a one piece front end on the typhoon ? At 12 seconds , i see fenders , hood, and grille smoothed together .The decals or paint looks real nice on it too . Bet it sure is fun to drive ..

Very nice Les. Looks like the Vette and the Ty stole the show. I can't imagine driving with that much power on an unprepped surface and hitting those times. Mine is a handful on the street and it is a granny ride compared to those two.

But....i know for sure the ty has a plastic shell :tup: dont know if its 100% but the front is plastic for sure.

the ty is a real steel car with a frame. it does have a fiberglass front end. but other than that it a full porky pound vehicle. i didn't have anything to do with the front end so i don't have much info on it. i can find out how it was made if i ask but it's possible it just got made by someone for us. we did it to try to lose a little weight off the front end since we're a little heavier with the V8, twin turbos, and other extra weight stuff. by the way... for those who've asked it is NOT an aluminum motor. not unless they've picked one up i don't know about. it's a DART steel block

personally, i think it looks pretty cool hustelin it's little short ass down the track that fast..... :--). also, regarding the question about is it stickers or paint of whatever.... it's a wrap. at least that's what we've been doin.

i'm interested in seeing what it'll run on a track that's prepped.... as you can imagine, there aren't a lot of tracks in eastern europe; we had a couple of little things that were keeping them from running it really hard up till now, but i expect it to start going faster and faster now.... it has GOBS of power as you can imagine. just listen to my little honey and that's pretty self evident...... trust me... goin faster with either of these cars is not an issue of power. we've got enoght power in both of them to break and bend all the parts with ease.....:(
