Possible boost leak help

Ever since i took my upper intake and such apart to clean Ive heard a winded noise when im on boost, and sounds like my turbo is higher pitched. Also i feel stronger had 3/4 throtte then full. Ive tried the sytyarchives bicycle tube idea, but i ended up buying the wrong tube and other problems haha. Are there any other ways. I remember my intake gasket being brittle, so it may be that. Any other ideas to try before i go taking it off?

Make sure that the two clamps that hold on the orange coupler between the throttle body and the intercooler are tight. Also be sure that the clamp on the throttle body side isn't on top of the "ears" that are on the front and back of it. If it is, that will leak for sure.

Often being faster at 3/4 throttle than WOT indicates detonation issue. You might be getting detonation issue due leaks. Anyways, I always replace intake gaskets when I pull the intake off.

The Bike tube test is one of the only ways you are going to know for sure it is a high boost leak. Make up some soap bobble also to help find the small leaks.

I actually made a cap for intercooler pipe thet comes right off the turbo with a valve stem on it. I take an air compressor and pump it full it full of air. Up to about 30psi and listen for leaks. If you have them, you'll find them! Cheap easy way and it works wonders!

I actually made a cap for intercooler pipe thet comes right off the turbo with a valve stem on it. I take an air compressor and pump it full it full of air. Up to about 30psi and listen for leaks. If you have them, you'll find them! Cheap easy way and it works wonders!

I will gladly take a pic when I'm home in 2 weeks. I bought a 2", 2.5" and a 3" rubber cap from lowes, a hose clamp, drilled a hole in it and used a screw in style valve stem for drag race rims... works like a charm! I have tested numerous turbo vehicles with this method I just pull the intercooler pipe off the turbo, hose clamp the cap over it and pump it with air with a compressor. Finds leaks quickly :tup:

finds leaks in intercoolers, TB gaskets, lower intakes, vacuum lines etc...

You may also want to check the under bend if the hose. I had mine rip there and didn't know it for a long time. Put a new hose on and it felt like a new truck.

i tried the bike tube test and i heard a faint high pitched noise, it seems like somewhere around the fuel regulator may be leaking? any help
