cap and rotor questions

Are the stock replacement gm cap and rotor still available for our trucks? I'll be changing mine soon and would like to stay as stock/gm as possible for simplicity and reliability reasons. If still available anybody running them with their stock (or otherwise) trucks? Is Conrad a better choice? If so why?

AC delco, is stock replacement. replace the ignition module while you're in there.

Hmmm... Curious, If running OK is that a maint item like the cap and rotor? I've been thinking of changing mine but ign seems good on my truck finally so haven't yet. (Had an MSD coil issue that got resolved.) If we change the module do we use GM or NAPA or?

i'd use GM module. i wouldn't really call it regular maint. but so many people, especially newbs, don't knw about this, so i recommend to change as well. i think i probably will change mine every year or so, but thats just me.

Back to the original question, what is the current consensus about the best cap & rotor? Delco, Conrad, or ?

if it isnt broke, it doesnt need to be fixed. as for brand, ac delco works fine.

I don't think Conrad is made anymore. I got an MSD cap and rotor from a local "high performance" shop. GM's prolly OK though. NAPA "good stuff" has been mentioned as well. NAPA makes to quality levels so get the correct one if you use NAPA.

IMO, any cap and rotor set that uses brass terminals/contacts is the gooder :tup: . And no, Conrad C&R's are no longer available from Auto Zone.
