yeh everything was hooked up. i flushed it just like he descrribed, it could very well be pre existing, i cant remember the last time i stood behind it after start up, but on the other hand i WOULD notice this much smoke,almost had to turn on the fog lights to see in my garage,lol. whatever its from i need to fix it. dont have much time during the week, and even if i did,im not too mechanically inclined.I know pulling off the heads is not a novice job, but I dont know any good mechanics in the area, any other advice? thanks for all the input guys. This is the first problem ive run into since ive had my truck and even thou it sucks, its really got me excited again thinking about my truck. This can even be a good time to do some upgrades Ive always wanted to do.

Not to hijack your thread... but I got into a race with a gt today from about 60 to 120... pushing 15-16 pounds... I let off and let him pull up beside me and go again except this time the motor sounded like it was fluttering.. and low on power.. motor running real rough now while pulling up a hill etc...white-blueish smoke out the pipes... I may have the same problem.. waiting to cool down to pull plugs... I'm thinking head gasket or blew a ring.. Maybe we can get a discount for two rebuilds at a time Lol

checked pulg... dry and black, still smoke. herd i can pull spark plug wires at distributer one at a time to check for possible piston ring problems? any opinions, or comments? also was told if that went good it could be the turbo going bad? and oh yeah the smoke is white.

Pulling plug wires would help you find a dead cylinder. Is it running rough?
If the smoke is pure white, that is normally coolant.
If you run the motor with the radiator cap off, are you noticing any bubbles coming out of the radiator? I lifted the head on a motor twice and blew the HG's. The small bubbles came out enough to where it look like a dog foaming at the mouth. Are you seeing anything weird like that?
A compression test couldn't hurt either. You could also try putting the cooling system on a pressure test to see if it holds or not.
