Needed ASAP: PTE Turbo Cover + Wastegate Actuator. Help everyone out...

ok...i want to make a wastegate actuator mount for reclocking the turbo compressor cover, but retaining the standard actuator location. I can't do this w/o a pte compressor cover and wastegate actuator though. Anyone willing to ship me theres to borrow, unharmed, for 2 weeks or so, will get a free mount.

I'm trying to have these ready for NATS, so i'm in a rush to get my hands on it. Thanks.

Does PTE even still offer a SyTy turbo/DP setup?

I thought they were going to quit offering the kit.
Something like they'd sell the upper DP but you had to make the rest.

PTE never made the DP's, Terry Houston did, sold them through PTE.

Terry lets just say got sidetracked with some free room/board.

yea they stopped making the downpipes. Thats why turbotime spent a lot of time making a pte style downpipe. PTE still makes internally actuated turbos though.

Here's how I made mine. Of course the compressor housing can't be rotated much before the angle of the actuator rod becomes to severe.
Just to give you some ideas. BTW, it's stainless.

yes this is along the lines of what i was thinking....only w/ some adjustability in it. Thanks for the pic, that looks nice!

I could send you the old turbo from my truck. Its a pte63 and clocked already for an a2a. Its got the actuator on it still

My PTE actuator looks different than that. Also on related question, do I clock my PTE turbo with the 6 bolts (that the actuator mounts to) and rotate the compressor section?

Yes, thats all you do to reclock.

Does your actuator come off of the bracket? looks like he just has the actuator vacuum portion, and no pte bracket attached to it.

No its all spot welded together.

Your bracket doesn't have nuts holding it to the actuator?

I didn't get the normal wastegate stuff when I bought my kit. RPM tried to help me out with a variety brackets, but in the end, just like most everything else, I had to fab a custom one.

the actuators from pte do not bolt to the bracket (like forcefed's), so you need to find them somewhere else. also keep in mind the to4b and to4e as well as the S trim and H trim covers have different bolt patterns.

yea i'm noticing that in looking at pics of everything. guess i'll just need to get my hands on one of each somehow. Maybe a universal PTE mount is still possible.

I wonder how much the bolt-style actuators are. Would make life a tad easier.

ok so i heard from Adumb today, and he doesn't know what piece in his engine bay is the turbo...so i need someone else to send me their cover.

Actually...he already has his clocked, and his wastegate mounted just fine - so there obviously isn't a need for EVERY pte cover, just some like 4c Fed's and possibly others.

SO...what i would like from people out there w/ PTE's - please see if you can reclock your turbo and still have the wastegate actuator mount properly w/ the pte bracketry. Thank you, drive though.

My PTE actuator looks like Dave's. Isn't pretty, but works with turbo clocked for A2A.

Someone just told me they reclocked their 20G with a large prybar.

I have always separated them myself, but wouldn't if F S up if you just twisted it with excessive force?
To the best of my knowledge mine did not have the tab that the stock turbo has to align the compressor housing.
There was a notch in the center section, but nothing on the housing side.
Can I twist it?

That E-Clip kicks my ass every time.
I need bigger snap ring pliers or somethin'

i wouldn't pry bar it. you just need some heavy duty snap ring pliers. i snapped a pair on my stock turbo but still managed to get the thing off.
