c6 18's and 19's

I have a good chance to pick up a set of 18 x 8.5 and 19 x 10 from a stock 2007 corvette. I need a good tire setup and if anyone has run 19's on a sy??
wheels are cheap. I know I need spacers. 11mm up front and 32mm in the rear to have them sit stock.

Your T-case is on its knees and begging that you don't do 18/19 combo. It does not want to explode on you.

Either go all 18s or all 19s.

I could go 275-30-19 rear and 245-45-18 front. That is close. Just not sure how it would look.

Personally, I think it would look stupid to have a larger profile tire up front to make up for the smaller diameter wheel. Why not go with a C6 in 18 x 8.5 +56mm front and 18 x 10.5 +58mm rear? I can get you those in chrome for $998.00 delivered. (You can also get them in a 18 x 9.5+40mm)

Corrected that typo on the price.

Can we still add pictures? I can't find my attachment button any longer.

Re: c6 18's and 19's

well these wheels cost only 200$. yes for all 4. Only have 100 miles on them. The tires will cost about 1k. So for 1200$ I will have a new set of tires and wheels.

I think it would look just fine....Everyone loves the way my Ty looks with the 19x9.5's in the front and 20x11's in the rear. Where it gets to looking kind of nasty is if you have a 2" difference in the rim. In my sig you'll see what the 20x11's look like with the 18x9.5's which I thought was too much of a difference once I saw it on the truck. But then I bumped it up to 19's in the front and it took care of it. Unfortunately I haven't taken any pics of it yet with the new setup.....and can't being that I'm still in Malaysia. But I honestly think it would look fine.

Re: c6 18's and 19's

Don't forget to consider the ride factor.....I admit that I don't like the ride of the 19's and 20's and have alreasdy ordered another set of 18's to go all the way around on the Ty. But the Ty is my daily driver. Houston streets suck big time and was also constantly worried about wheel damage. So now the 19's and 20's are just going are just going on for future shows and events for the Syclone. But if your Sy's not your daily....and your getting the deal I remember you talking about.....I say go for it.

I would also make sure you can find the right tires. I'm not sure what manufacturer you were looking at....but with Michelin.....the sizes you suggest are really close to the supposed 1% difference. I like to go with revs per mile on the tires. Usually they round to the nearest tenth on the diameters. For shits and giggles I like to keep mine under .5%.

Anyway...it's all just my opinion...hope it's useful.

I'm glad I'm not the only one running 19's-20's.
I'm running michelin's 275x35x19's and 285x30x20's with a 2.5 inch drop all the way around. The profile looks the same except the back wheel is bigger (difference is still under 5%). My best 60 foot is a 1.7 so far..

Re: c6 18's and 19's

I'm running the Michelin Pilot Sports PS2's....265/35-19's (790rpm) and 325/25-20's (789rpm). My difference is .1%

Just so you know....according to the revs per mile for Michelin....those sizes put you at 1.1494% difference in tire size. Just a tad bit over the supposed allowance. How many miles have you put on the transfer case with those sizes. I think I remember seeing pics of your Ty.....looked pretty evil.

I didn't realize that I was over the allowance. I've been running around for a few years with this set-up with no problems-knock on wood. I have the front about half inch lower in the front now, so it really gives it that wide stance-I'll send pics over the weekend.

Where did you find a 325/25-20's? Isn't that the tire on the new Vipers?
Please send us some pics!.

Well hopefully you won't have any problems.....From what I understand from the info on this site....the "allowance" is suppose to be a 1% difference in tire size from each other. Defiinitely shoot some pics. You can see crappy pics of mine from my sig. Just click on it. I buy all my tires from Tire Rack......I'll shoot some fresh pics when I get back home in October.....

Hey if I ran these would I still need a spacer in the rear? I don't like spacers at all, but I do like the c6's in chrome
