driving over to shoot some pool with a friend i see this vette coming up behind me, we exit the feeder and come to a light, he looks at me and asks if it is a real sy then after i say yes he says "cool", the light turns green and i give it a little gas and so does he, then i rom p on it and so does he, all i hear is the whine of a supercharger and the badging that says zo6......yeah, so he left my ass. he had some crazy wheel spin too when he shifted to 2nd. nice car though

I am currently negotiating on a Lemans Blue one. They are certainly quick....0-60 in 3.7 and cover a 1/4 mile in 11.7 AND that is from the factory, however the SC whine is not factory but at 505 HP out of the box, a SC is a mute item on street tires. Some people have more money than brain cells.....

it was a c5. black with dark gery rims. i am guessing it had like a magna charger or a whipple charger. i didn't hear a "whine at idle like what i have heard from a paxton, procharger or the like. but when he got on it, the whine was very simular to the whine on a lightning. none the less, it was pretty fast.

didn't look at the hood. one of my wifesfriends just bought a 76 stingray with the L82 engine package. she is now the third owner. pretty clean car but the previous owner had the plain white resprayed with a pearl white. still a nice car, her husand took me for a ride in it and it felt slow. under the hood was a set of headers, aluminum intake bigger carb and ???? inside the engine. ifigure it sat for a pretty good while before they bought it and i suggested doing a good ole fashioned tune up and adjust the carb/timeing, maybe even look for a vac leak. the head lights go up and down pretty slow and not at the same time and it is idled up around 1200 rpm. her husband is building a 68 charger with a full coilover suspension big a** brakes and a supercharged hemi.......

So you noticed a little Z06 fender badge but didn't notice a bulging hood??? My guess is it had the stock hood. There was a guy last year at Bowling Green with a red supercharged C5 (looked totally stock from the outside) and he ran something like a 10.6 or 10.7 IIRC so set up right, they are no joke.

Most people don't notice the modified hood on a Magnuson supercharged Vette because it looks very "factory" issue.

...My nearest Corvette Dealer just sent me the following info on the new 2008 C6
(ie NOT the Z06 nor the ZR-1, but the run of the mill standard C6):
-The 2008 corvette has an increased standard 6.2L/430 hp V8
( via revised cylinder heads, larger intake and exhaust valves, & higher flow fuel injectors)
-GM claims 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds for the 6-speed automatic (the 6 speed manual should be faster).
-Smoother shifting is available for the 6 speed manual and quicker shifting for the
6 speed paddle shift automatic
-GM has also added 2 new performance options including a 2-mode exhaust similar to the Z06
for 6 hp increase (from 430 to 436 total) and a performance axle (2.73:1) for the 6 speed paddle shift automatic.
-GM offers 2 new premium colors - jetstream blue metallic tintcoat and crystal red metallic tintcoat
-GM offers 2 new wheel designs, a split spoke cast aluminum painted wheel and a
new forged polished aluminum 5 spoke.
-Gallaway offers a Magnuson supercharger on a stock C6 engine for 560ph, or an
optional increase to 616 hp.
