Aem Ems

i can't find much info on here about the AEM EMS, i currently have a pretty old set up: the pocket romulator and datamaster stuff and all the supporting components that go along with that stuff. I am familiar with the AEM EMS and tuning and would like to use that instead of what i currently have, they have a system that works for our syty's but i was just wondering why nobody here has used it, is it cause of the cost? there isn't an application specific system for our trucks but they do offer a universal one that works with our trucks and i just wanted to get some info from you guys before i made the purchase.

Re: Aem Ems

I have the Mustang plug & play on my '86 GT, and I'm fairly impressed with it. The big hurdle on doing it on a SyTy is going to be adapting the harness, and that's where you'll probably end up tearing your hair out.

that's the only thing? there's an excellent automotive electrical shop near by that i can take it to for that, is there any other obstacle? i love the AEM EMS especially compared to the sytem that i have now lol.

I think the reason standalones are not common is because the stock ECM is so capable and the tuning tools are very mature. With the romulator/Ostrich emulator and TunerPro, and the Wideband O2 datalogging patch, you have a system that's just as good if not better than a standalone (when it comes to the majority of street/strip trucks).
