Meth system install

I finally installed the AIS meth system in my Sy. At the same time i did alot of cleanup and repainting of the TB and upper IC. Bought a new IC to TB hose and clamps. I had to remove the horn to mount the meth pump and will have to relocate it.

Now comes the tuning. As soon as I can get DM to work.

Thanks Josh, hopefully that will help. Part of the problem is that my cable is serial and my laptop is USB and I am using an adapter and think that might be the issue. I am borrowing a laptop with a serial port from work and will try that as well.

AIS is Alcohol Injection Systems at www.alcoholinjectionsystems.com.

The basic kit without a bottle was $229. I just replaced the washer bottle with a new one($10 from GM) and added the tap for the meth system. Rodney from AIS called about an hour after I placed the order online and wanted to know the application and mods so that the injector could be properly sized. I asked about adding the progressive controller that they offer at a later date and was told it was no problem and he would give me a discount on it when I was ready. Tried it out today with the conservative T1-17 setting and the knock light on the gauge never came on at all. I can't wait to tune it and see what kind of boost levels I can achieve. I am following your spreadsheet and hope to get similar results.

One question though, when you added the boostvalve did they give instructions on how to bypass/disable the stock valve so it doesn't throw a code?

EEEEeeeeeekk!!! :tdown: Here's an imitation of me trying to get an ALDL connection via a Serial to USB adapter --> :banghead: :steamer: :crazyeye: :bad-word:

Hopefully you have better luck with the serial port laptop from work. I always recommend matching the ALDL cable style to your port! (i.e. use a USB ALDL adapter like the one from www.moates.net if your laptop only has USB ports)

I'm glad to hear that, I think you are the first person following the spreadsheet (that I know of).

The stock boost solenoid (red arrow) doesn't actually send any signal to the ECM whether it's disconnected. So your ECM won't know the difference. Just be sure your chip/octane/fueling can handle the increased boost levels...

The paint is actually Rustoleum Hammered Metal Black spray paint. It came out real nice considering it was a gamble.

I am amazed at how close I already was to your 12.2 time mods. Other than the boost valve and test pipe I am right there.
