Changes to Sportmachines - wiki

Hey everyone,

As I'm sure some have seen, we converted Sportmachines over to wiki software. We know that there are members of the Syclone Typhoon community who could certainly add information to the site and we want to open it up for that purpose. When you go to Sportmachines, you will notice several new features including:

There are a lot of features and we are happy to be able to bring this to the community.

I know I still have some work to do in converting the magazine articles over to the wiki.

If you need some assistance in how to create a new wiki page, you can see simple instructions.

So who's going to be the first to create a quiz to test us all on our knowledge of the Syclone and Typhoon?

Cheers,

phoonTy

Truckless. For now.

Looks great Opie! I was thinking about doing the same for .org, but at this rate, two wiki's aren't needed. I also applaud the work to the gallery. Putting all of the trucks in numerical order is sweet!

Good job SM team!

I had a few links to you from www.powertuneplus.com - will this break those links?

No. it will not break any links. I have put redirects in to automatically forward any previous links.

And now you can go add your website to the directory on Sportmachines

I added my Ty (or so I thought) to the registry when I bought it a year & a half ago and now I noticed it's not there. I tried to add it again & still no workie.
Do I have to be logged in to register it?

No. The truck registry is separate from the wiki part. It looks to me like you registered '92 Ty 1795, Rick. Here it is:

http://www.sportmachines.com/members/truckind.php?truckid=3597

So, it appears that you made in error in your truck number. What is the correct last four digits of your VIN?

Owned by CRS and lack of attention. I was scrolling right past the '92's & looking in the '93's for mine.
1795 is correct, thanks Opie.

Re: Changes to Sportmachines - wiki

Does anyone have any ideas for new pages to put on Sportmachines? I'm surprised that no one has created a single new page. I can certainly help in making the structure of any ideas that you have.

How about a detailed guide to all the stock features/components? That way new owners will know what their trucks are missing if they've been hacked up.

Now that I'm pulling my engine apart again, I was thinking how many little brackets and stuff are on there from the factory and how it would be nearly impossible to restore a truck without some good reference photos.

Hell, I'd like to know if there are any little things my truck is missing. I've got stuff like the Shreveport Alligator, the fan-routing sticker on the upper fan shroud (had to source a replacement sticker when an alternator explosion damaged the original shroud), and my original transmission VIN matches the truck VIN. But what else is there?

Seems like a good fit for the "historical" theme of your site.

Josh,

That is a great suggestion. Do you want to start it out by creating a page and and as much into as you need. Then others will be able to add onto it.

Which browser are you using? Which version of browser? What type of computer (PC or mac)? What is the exact page you are trying to view? Please provide more detail so that I can troubleshoot it.
