Baer brakes + sticky tires + abs = suck

I almost wiped myself out and the idiot that pulled out across in front of me on my way home from work. I have the baer 4 wheel disc system, sumitomo htrz 2 tires with a treadwear rating of 100 traction AA, they are sticky as hell. Well anyways when this guy pulled out he seen me and stopped right in the middle of the street. I was going about 40 and had probably 45ish feet to do something, so i slammed the brakes. The front end dove and would have stopped but then the f'n abs kicked in the front end went up and guess what----no brakes, cranked the wheel left and back right, missed him by inches literally. ty #833 came up on 2 wheels. I never liked abs and still dont. Think its time to delete the system so the brakes are more predicatable. Was able to turn around and catch up to him at a stop light, he looked over and said "My bad bro'". I just shook my head, what do you say at a time like that, If i would have started, i probably would have been in jail right now, was just glad that i didnt hurt my truck. FReaking dumbaass salesman at the ford dealer down the street. Yup im pretty sure im deleting the abs b.s Will i need a different prop valve for this?.

pretty common behavior for the archaic ABS in these trucks.

You dont need a new prop valve when you delete the ABS unit but there is a trick to replacing the bolt in the end to a solid bolt that sends more fluid to the rears to even out the F-R bais a bit.
I have read about it and there is a write up linked here somewhere to a guy that did it on his Impala SS and was planning on doing it on a SyTy but he never reported back.

Better yet woudl be an adjustable prop valve and then you can just dial in the F-R bias you like.
Honestly with no ABS Unit, (tucker auto ABS delete kit) and my 4 wheel Baers I like my bias.
I'm the type that is more confident braking right to the ragged edge of traction rather than let the ABS have all the fun.
There is almost as much of a rush of doing a 4 wheel lockup than there is a 10 PSI launch.

On a daily driver, my wifes awd subaru, the moms and 16 year olds on the road in rain and snow I definitely recommend ABS.
On a 15 year old early production unit I think I can outdrive it anyways.

My couple of cents worth and its way past my bedtime.

i was shown that to run without it on just pull a plug under the hood and it cuts off ABS but thats just me wanting to leave it as stock as possible

That sounds exactly like what happened to me last winter. A glitch in the ABS system caused my brakes to fail (no ABS brake pedal pulse, just a stiff pedal with no brakes) and I ended up driving/sliding UP my driveway into the corner of my house. It was either hit the garage head on and push my '67 Cougar into my living room wall, hit the neighbor's house or hit the corner of my house. :tdown:
