Just make sure you dont order the chrome ones by mistake.

Re: Need rear license plate lamp houses .

I have
Housing: License Plate Light GM #918399

But please double check that it is indeed the black version before placing your order.
I am not sure if this was one of them but I had someone use a few part #s from my site and the plastic parts came in chrome instead of black / unpainted.
It was a grill and shipped to alaska so needless to say he was rather upset when he opened his box.

As far as I know you cannot get the black housings anymore. My truck was missing one when I got it nine years ago. I called Dal Slabaugh (if you know who Dal is, you're an OG) and even he wasn't able to find one a single one after a WORLDWIDE GM parts search. Ended up getting a chromed out one from him instead and painting it after sanding all the chrome off. This was nine years ago so unless GM started making more since then, you're gonna have to settle for chrome or buy used.

Well that won't kill me to sand and maybe tint some clear like I did my tailights.and smoke them.

I just got one a few weeks back for a ty that I had here.

They couldn't seem to find the correct part # for a syty ( I work at a GM dealership for those who don't know) so I had them order me one for a 96ish GM work truck with black painted bumpers. It fit perfectly.

If you guys get the chrome ones, here's a tip that may work. In scale model plastic cars, the parts often come chromed. To strip the chrome easily and safely, just soak overnight in a tub of purple "Super Clean" degreaser. (Used to be called Castrol Super Clean but the company was sold and now its just Super Clean). I'm not sure if this would work on the GM tail lamp housings but assuming they are plastic with a similar chrome, it might work.
