Your ty will definitely be one of the finest when completed. Don't get too discouraged - you can see real progress now. The reassembly is always fun.:rant: I went through a similar resto-mod to a Jeep CJ7 several years ago. I had probs with the body shop but it worked out in the end. Memories...

Props on your project writeup. It inspired me to make my first post ever, and I hope to do a similar writeup when I get my first sy.

Nice bike! Seems like people on here share a lot of the same interests.

Thanks mate! Very kind words indeed; much appreciated.

I was totally oblivious to the Shindig on the weekend that I am in Florida. It would be awesome to try and arrive on the Saturday evening and perhaps the Sunday to see some of these trucks. I am with a friend so we will have to see if he is cool with it but what an opportunity! Thanks for the heads up.

In other news :rofl: the car is no assembled again and the body is on the chassis. This week the doors are getting re-aligned and the body prepped for paint. The new Energy Suspension poly body mounts were a joy apparently and the body guy was pleased it went together so quickly.

Cladding pieces have been test painted but having not had the chance to see them I am reliant on the colours of his camera and the monitor to decide which colour I would prefer on the truck. Darker grey seems to be the order of the day.

I hope to have some more photos by the end of the week and take delivery of the truck at the end of the month. I can't believe it has been nearly a year :( Still, it should last for a long time!

Doors sills first then the new door hinges getting aligned. The pass side door wasn't flush before and we suspected an impact. The body shop will male it sweet again.

I saw a white Range Rover sport HSE in Miami last night and thought how good it looked. With the tinted windows and ice white exterior and new lights etc it made me think of the Ty. I can't wait to get this thing in the garage so I can play on it!!!

More pics next week when it gets painted properly. Windows are ready to go in and I have all new seals and trim for the doors etc.

OK, lots of pics as there has been LOTS of progress! The truck was hidden by an RV when I went into the shop and myeyes lit up and I hade a big grin on my face when I saw what The General had become :D

you've lost me.

Iwish the dash didn't have the crack in it but fixing that is the least of my priorities right now. Hopefully within the next two weeks both the engine and drivetrain and the truck will be in the same garage. I have an 800 mile round trip to do at least 3 times in order to move all my stuff. I get an Army vehicle to move it otherwise it would cost me gas and rental so it made sense although I am not looking forward to it.

I also like this picture as the truck is nolonger filled with parts and is starting to get cleared out!

Thanks mate! 2 weeks on friday and I have a garage and somewhere to drop in the engine!

I got the tail lilghts and front lenses from www.lmctruck.com

They look great althouth the orange bulbs are kack.

Thanks mate! I am v excited about getting it into my Dad's garage for the Christmas holidays and doing some work on it.

The engine is pretty much ready to go in, I just need the truck back!

Couple more pics:

The cladding is all painted, the decals are on the cladding and lacquered over and the guys are just fitting it all using the plastic rivets.

Things left to do:

install front grill
install side repeaters
install aerial assembly for radio
cladding
new clear lights all around
re-attach sway bar
make sure fuel filler hose is attached properly
polish
deliver.

Hopefully it will all be done in time for my 30th on Dec 20th then I can spend Xmas avoiding the family and working on the truck! I just drove 900 miles ot move all my parents stuff out the garage so for the first time in 4 years I can be at home AND work on my truck. It's bigger than the previous places I have had to use so should aid me in getting things done.

OK - can someone help me here - is that gap supposed to be there? Between the plastic where the filler cap is connected and the truck - you can see the floor - doesn't look right to me..

Is this from the self levelling part of the suspension?

I am next going to see the truck on Wednesday next week by which point it should be ready for collection. I may go into the shop on Monday and help speed them along as it is about time this was done. I started in the body shop over a year ago and am getting impatient although the work done is excellent thus far.

Hope you guys like it. :)

nice progress, that's the leveling device, i wouldn't bother with it and throw it away and put in some new shocks

is that stock cladding? might be my computer but it looks almost like its carbon fiber
