Which one do you guys like best? I like the Vortec covers because they are compact, clean looking and GM, I like the Edelbrocks because they look tough but cant stand the script on them.

vortec!!!!!!!!!!!

i hate chrome, and i refuse to put valve covers to a company on a truck, that they dont even make heads for.......come on edelbrock.......no 4.3l aluminum heads??? ......ooooooohhh but we can make a brand new set of "409" heads for the small # of them out there.

how many millions of 4.3l engines are running around out there??????....reducilous!!!!! .....rant off.

edelbrocks look way more polished IMO, but then again you could paint/detail your vortec's to the same level

Actually edelbrock did make heads for the 4.3 at one time but discontinued them for some reason. A buddy of mine has a set with the intake manifold I have been trying to get from him for sometime now.

FWIW I'm gonna use the Vortec's. Mostly a $$ with me. I like the fully dressed engines people have done. Polished alum against black looks good IMO. I would prefer plain as opposed to named covers though.

Mike I dont think the vortec ones will fit with your roller rockers. Unless you add spacers.... But then I bet they will leak...

Got some spacers yesterday. The Vortecs fit nicely with them. I like the Vortecs better myself. I guess that is what I will go with. I am on a mission today to find a way to prevent the spacers from leaking. I haven't ruled out epoxy but would certainly rather not.

I've run spacers on my truck with the stock valve covers and they have never leaked and I just have them installed the way there supposed to be. My spaces do have a black rubber ring running through the spacers on both sides

Is it a continuous ring or does it have a seam? I was just going to machine a groove in the spacer, top and bottom, for sealing cord and call it a day. I like the Vortecs too, the Edelbrocks look to "busy" for my taste...

It's on continuious one. I've had it apart a couple times and no leaking
