Anyone know how much effort / time it is to remove the Flywheel / Flexplate while the engine is still in place? Or is it just easier / better to remove the engine to acomplish it correctly?

See I knew that there was a wise weenie out there. Both a tapered plug would explain my major oil leak. Stupid engine builder he kramed in a straight thread, way to go idiot. Thank you for the valuable infromation.

If you are only looking for a little bit more height just rtv two rubber gaskets together let them dry then bolt them in place. You will gain .060 to .080 with no leaks.

I believe that picture is taken from the wrong angle. You should have been ahead of him, or did you back off so that you could fit the entire car in the shot.

The missing bolt in my picture above is the one that the stud goes into to mount the clamp that goes around the fuel lin to keep it in place. Should be the one kind of above the knock sensor below the manifold bolt.
